one of the reasons could also be that the main story just wasn't that good from a character and story standpoint and the fact that it got a part 2 and 3 and took forever to be finished didn't help. i haven't seen anyone here praise the main story or claim that the main story is their favourite part even though it has 3 parts so there was way more space for character growth and so on. the game has been getting carried by the eve and roxxy update and how great they were for a long time now. i also enjoyed the teachers update a lot back then but honestly those updates been such a long time ago. the game feels like a completly different thing to me now.

I wouldn't even say that these characters weren't good, but at least to me it's simply the fact, that the main story consists of many secondary/tertiary characters, who essentially have their own small story each. It's normal that these stories can't compete with the full stories the primary girls are getting.

Yet, I think we don't have to argue that the game needed some kind of main story and I think it's the right decision, to not attach the main story itself to a single main girl, but have it somewhat independed from any "real" and dateable love interest.

Sure, it's debatable whether we really needed all of them or whether for example either Liu or Josephine or either Melonia or Iwanka should have been removed, but ultimately we are talking a few months difference in saved time, which I don't think matters that much in the bigger picture.

If the complaint-ratio is that extreme, I'd say my conclusion is pretty fair. Most people basically act like they got nothing for two years...

You're looking at it the wrong way. People aren't complaining because they're getting extra scenes, they're complaining that there's yet another pre-tech update instead of an actual update. Just because people want to see characters getting developed with their quest doesn't mean more scenes aren't welcome.

Saying that DC was right all along for making updates have like 4 scenes max because people are tired of pre-tech updates and want the game to finally get to regular updates again is straight up wrong.

I think most people agree that the game could use a better scene to gameplay ratio, that doesn't mean you can't get tired of scene batches being the only content you're getting for a long time. They don't contradict each other.

In that case one would have expected at least a somewhat measured response. Sure, most people want more scenes, too, but they aren't willing to accept longer development times, as it seems. For DC it seems much safer to just not care about additional scenes, like basically at all. You may get the basic, usual complaints, but at least no additional ones on top.

I personally like these scene updates, too, but they have never been popular among the wider public, as most people simply comlain that the character(s) they wanted didn't get one.

The fact that the responses have been almost completely negative doesn't suggest that to me, to be honest. those additional scenes definitely are necessary. the amount of h-scenes for grace before the new scene were pitiful (and they still are). i think jenny has the right amount of content for being one of the main girls and feels complete by now (aside from threesomes and stuff like that you could put her in with other girls) so that's the amount of scenes they should be aiming for with all of the main girls. the thing is just that

a) only characters mostly nobody cares about have been getting scenes. not even the secondary and tertiary characters people tend to enjoy
b) in my opinion those updates should be made directly after the main update is released

so for example: rhonda update is out --> ~2 months later she gets a couple additional scenes so people could decide if they want to play her route earlier or wait a couple months more and get the complete thing. basically make the additional scenes while hype and excitement for the specific girl is still big. if the cafeteria granny gets a couple scenes now while we've been waiting for 2 years for a new story update of course it's going to get a shit reception.

basically DC sucks ass at project planning and there is a reason why a manager or a publisher being involved isn't a bad thing in many cases. DC has free reign to do what he wants with all his patreons and the result of that is what we're seeing now

I could give a shit if people keep supporting this game or not. It's their money, let them pledge, invest in crypto, give it to hookers or flush it down the toilet for all I care. Whats funny is these 'well respected members' coming in running PR damage control like they are being paid by the post as if anyone gives a shit about the reputation of a frequent poster on a fap forum.

R(h)onda (most liekly) won't get a bonus update (aside the dating/prom night) : once her update is released in ~6 months, that'll be it and she won't have any bonus stuff 2 months later. She'll be 1 of the 1st "main" girl to get all at once : her update with 2ndary girls, all their preg stuff and a "definite" ending for them. Unlike most other girls who still need a preg remake

That's honestly not the best stragegy and I'm sure that's what any publisher would tell you. No matter how many scenes you'll add right away, those who like the character are going to want more anyway (see Jenny right now). You'd only make those happier who already liked the update/character and add nothing for those who didn't.
From a management point of view, it's much better to complete the normale update and to add the last small bits, bobs and scenes in between other updates, so those who like a character at least have chance to get something down the line and continue to follow the game, while those who don't like the character won't have to suffer through let's say 7 to 8 months of Judith only content.
If you tell people, that there's nothing left for them to look forward to, the chance they'll get really frustrated and stop caring is much higher and that's bad for any project.

Well, it kinda did? During the main story updates DC's earings still grew/were at least pretty much stable, while he slowly lost ~ $15k/month in earnings this year. Sure, he still makes a lot, but it's definitely noticeable.

don't think he cares about growing earnings at this stage anymore, he has made fuck you money anyway already and spending more time with his family and not needing to work hard is probably much more valueable to him. like he was busting his ass in the first couple years of STS and you saw it in his streams. now if you look at his streams he works an hour drawing some bathroom tiles or something. i've also read this is still art he's doing for the rhonda update so him being finished with rhonda update art is completly false

He already finished the main story so everything else is "extra" in his opinion, thus he sleeps quite peacefully convincing himself that he already has delivered what he promised/advertised on Patreon.

In his defense, this game has loads of content already and he has no notion of abandoning the project so most of the fans just suck up and wait patiently for slow updates.

All I hope for is that he rekindles that passion he had years ago and start working hard on this project for the sake of his fans.

I mean, you are comparing a guy whose wife was just pregnant with their first child and who still did drunk streams every other night, to somebody who has three young children. People have to be aware that they literally demand DC on missing out on his own children growing up because they want their porn. Sure, it's fair to say that he's working a bit less than before, but there's certainly a reason for that. Next to that it's also fair to say that very few people will manage to work literally "the whole day" on one project without some kind of alternation or hiatus for years without buring out.

Then again, I don't think there's as much of a difference as people tend to say. The quality and number of larger assets (scenes, cut scenes, etc.) has improved a lot over the years and that's taking quite a bit of time, too.

I don't know why people are even claiming that (probably because he did start with Ronda's art ages ago?). A few months ago DC said that he'd like to be about "half done" with Ronda by christmas, which seems somewhat realistic to me, thought I'd guess that he's a bit behind schedule, as usual.
