The incest patch isn't tied to DC at all. It's purely unofficial, unlike many of the other off site IC patches. That's why the patch causes all sorts of issues withing the game, too.

So, considering how long it took to get from 79% to 80% completion, I'm guessing the tech update will drop in 2026-27. Thoughts?
I'm honestly half expecting this to be the final update at this point, if the fanbase even keeps the funding alive long enough for DarkCookie to complete it.

If you mean what I think you mean, that won't be for years from now.
DC's supposedly done with all the art for the tech release except for 1 image. However, there are still more than 100 other tasks - coding, posing, writing that's eating up the time. and then after those are done, there are bug fixes.

The worst thing is yet to come. If it *does* release sometime in the future, we all will be quite disappointed after waiting for years lmao. Exactly the same happened with DayZ
Why would you be disappointed in a technical update? It means new scenes are not the focus. Frankly when it does go live, I don't expect much new content with a technical update. Which they said from the beginning would take them a long time.

I agree with you until your last sentence.
Dark Cookie, when making the pitch for the Tech Update at the end of 2020 and start of 2021, told the paid patreon subscribers it would "take roughly the same amount of time (3 to 4 months) to complete." Subscribers then voted in the poll for which should come first, Rhonda's update or the Tech Update, with that understanding. Obviously, DC was wildly naive, mis-/under- informed, fantastically optimistic, or simply clueless about the resources (time, staff, etc) it would take for the tech update to happen properly.
The Tech Update was going to be worked on, no matter what. It was only a matter of when. Even if subscribers had voted for Rhonda's update to come first - that would have been done by August 2021. The work on the Tech Update would have started right after that, with Annie and Judith's updates still in the future. The only difference is that Rhonda fans would have had her content this entire time, rather than waiting along with the Annie and Judith fans.
It is what it is and we'll see how it is when it is released, whenever it is.
I dont care about tech update i want just to remake the Debbi's scenes, they look outdated.

And for those things to happen, the tech update was initially intended. No more re-work of outdated content without tech update.
