The worldwide annual mortality rate is less 2% of adults (for 18-60) as of 2021 when it was at its highest in two decades. In the US, financial institutions regularly receive notifications of SSNs for people who have died and don't necessarily need to wait for someone to notify them in order to freeze accounts. In order to close them, it does require more attention - yes.
But let's do a mental exercise on the idea that every single death is not reported through official channels or by executors of the estates...
Let's extrapolate - at his highest, DC has had about 32,000 subscribers. On the average - probably about 22,000 subscribers over the course of the 8 years he's had his patreon. 2% of 22,000 is 440 (this number is obviously rough - because some patrons stopped subscribing prior to dying and there is always new patrons taking their place... but let's make this simple, shall we?). The average subscription per subscriber is $2 USD and some change. We'll round up to nearly $3 USD to make this simple.
That's $1,200 per month of the $50-$60,000 per month he'd be receiving from every death of every subscriber, assuming their accounts never ran out of money from all the other bills that were taken directly from their accounts with auto-pays, cards expiring, etc - and that the financial institutions never received any noticed of their death. Pretty much a drop in the bucket.
While, yes, it can be a couple of months from the time a person dies to the time an account is frozen - not allowing assets to be moved in either direction - it is negligible in number, relatively speaking.
