I'd agree, especially since SS is going to be around for quite some time. Also I remember DC saying that his "next game" (or at least what he envisions could be his next game right now) will be rather different - drawn of course but else not that many similarities to SS. I think he said that 2 or 3 times on stream within the last months so it looks like he has made up his mind.
This game has a huge potential to become very big and with so many possibilties. it's sad that the updates take so freaking long. I understand DC went on vacation and had the patreon drama, but still, it's been 4 months...

He also had to rewrite part of the story and such to, it normally comes out every month but this update will be the biggest one yet.
When I first saw the game I wasn't even aware there was incest in the game. That Roxxy logo + the name Summertime Saga, I thought it was gonna be some 80's thing,
It's NOT Patreon or Paypal that's doing this ultimately, it's the credit card companies man. They have rules and there are laws. ANYTHING related to a crime can't legally get you paid. Visa, Mastercard, etc, don't want anything fucking up their billions and billions of dollars and if you dare remotely jeopardize that, you're getting cut off from their service, which means you can't get money they currently owe you, and you can't get anymore money from their service. That's pretty much a death kneel in almost any business today. All the porn made by big companies has strict rules to not run afoul of these companies because it would destroy their business model. As long as the porn you make is well within the legal guidelines, the CC's don't care because what you are doing is legal. Soon as you start getting into risky territory you endanger your relationship with them, which is why you have seen a decline in certain themes in the porn industry.
Patreon is likely peanuts to Visa and company. Shutting them out doesn't really mean much to them. However, for Patreon to lose their services, they're screwed. They can't afford to do that, so they have to play by their rules.
Does no one seem to understand how much work goes into making a game? Most games have teams of people involved and those take years to produce. DC is one guy who probably has a life and this is a side project that has luckily gotten good for him. 4 months is nothing. It's probably gonna be 4 years before he's done. Should he hire more people, perhaps. But, and this is the beauty here, he's got total control over this art. No one is giving him deadlines or making demands of him or else he's getting terminated. He is the Orsen Fucking Wells of incest gaming and frankly, you can't rush that kind of artistic genius. If he hires more people, it's gonna hurt something, and will likely bother DC immensely. He clearly cares about this project as a craft. He could have abandoned a long time ago or even right now, and there was nothing stopping him from that. Instead, he didn't quit, and he's still chugging along, doing it the best he can as he can, with no pressure, and he's giving it all away for FREE.
Maybe he's milking us. Just my opinion here, but I'd rather this one lowly guy be milking me while giving away his product for free, over being constantly ripped off by "triple aaa gaming" companies whose singular goal is unequivocally to fleece as much money out of the consumer as possible so their stock prices keep going up and their CEO's get bigger checks and their employees, who do all the actual work, getting next to nothing for all their hard work and they live in constant fear of being replaced for one reason or another. DC and this project ain't nothing like that, and it's great because of it IMHO.

Ok see, I don't fucking get that. I've seen big porn companies make incest vids before. Granted they're obviously not really related I mean ffs, but how does that make it any less illegal from incest in drawn porn? Or any of the other shit they censored? My bad man, I'll drop it after the last post and this. I just wanted to point out it's not Patreon making this all happen, it's credit card companies that are dictating what is happening. I don't blame Pateron and I wish people would stop acting like DC changing things is on them as opposed to them be dictated by forces bigger than them.
unfortunately it is more likely the next week (imho)

Yes, you do not. Games are not all the same, do you think Flappy Birds took years to make, do you think as much development goes into Summertime Saga as GTA 5.
Secondly, DC's personal life is of no concern to us, it should never be brought up.
