Atleast until Ella returns.
I want that to happen so bad so i can be the one who put her down for good.

It is possible H.E.R.O. killed a clone or she can simply split herself into two. Latter seems very likely considering her regeneration powers. If an earthworm can do it so does she.

Also probably too late for that but i wish there were more "breasts" and less two weather baloons floating waist high. I am pretty sure most woman will suffer severe spinal issues few years on and there are no amount of superpowers that can save them from that.

I'm not so much putting her down, more turning her into a slave, at least that's my current thought process after the run around and the "could you please tell me what's happening" "no" back and forth, she needs to be put in her place badly.
The girls just need big trunks to support their spines, like Aglaecwif. :KEK:

DISCLAIMER: Despite the opinion expressed here, WW is by far one of the most dedicated developers on this site, and deserves all the support he gets. Superhuman is a far more coherent and enjoyable work by virtue of its plot (rather than just its pornographic content) than 99% of games on this site. And its porn content generally rivals its plot, which is saying a lot.

Ooof, I should probably keep my clearly very unpopular thoughts about this update to myself, but I'm drunk and feeling dangerous. My personal biases (opinions and literature experiences) heavily influence my enjoyment of this update, obviously.

The update, even if you ignore Aglaecwif v Laurie (which I don't wanna; my vote counts, godsdammit!), left me highly disappointed.

Michael vs Oscar and Michael vs Lightning Monster were dynamic fights with oodles of action and twists. Michaels' prep was ingenuous, and his tactics exciting. MC vs Valravn was even better. As far as I'm concerned, MC vs Valravn is the best fight we've had till date.

MC vs. Deryl, on the other hand? Reminded me of the GiantBossTM fights of the noughties, where you exhaust their moveset by dodging it, attack as they "recharge", and rinse and repeat. And find a safe space when it telegraphs its massive AoE. Very basic. And boring. I love Theoden's charge, but kill me instead of telling me about every hew and stroke of his blade during that charge.

Alice (and Laurie) vs The Bat was fun, albeit short. But the rest of their fights relied far too heavily on the Rule of Cool. "Look, Alice lvl2! So awesome!" Meh. MC's lvl2 was epic. Alice's was so telegraphed, I just wanted to be done with it. The same goes for Michael's powers, of course, although the latter is somewhat better as we realise he needs actual combat to develop. But, again, that was so obvious, I really did not derive much enjoyment from the scenario.

Ella's fight did nothing for me either... 2Bleach4Me, if you know what I mean. Even worse if she's actually dead, as it's a really disappointing end to one of my favourite characters. As I said, personal biases.

Now, before the next section, I should point out that I generally enjoy occasional exhibitions of MC's helplessness. I like the fact that he isn't (yet) the one ubermensch to rule them all. Nico casually kills him? Makes sense. Need lvl2 to fight MonsterKlaus? Duh. Valravn can stomp the unoptimised? Absolutely. Heck, I support lvl1 Deryl, given MC's injuries and Deryl's prep, taking on lvl2 MC. Narratively, I consider it a very logical culmination of the situation.

But Deryl got wanked to high heaven in this update. Let's get the meta out of the way: Deryl gets to impregnate milfylicious monster (regardless of consequences, because you can bet your arse he isn't dying due to that choice), save Laurie, and survive (in one form or another)? Fuck that noise. Imma cheat.

However, more importantly, Deryl should never have been the main boss for MC, let alone requiring lvl3! Even if he's a Variant, this feels like MC just grows way too slowly. MC already fought to a standstill against a low-level Deryl. This fight should have been an efficient curbstomp. Don't even get me started on the whole, "hesitation," bit. MC hesitates and immediately dies because, "Only the strong get to hesitate," but Deryl can hesitate and not get pulverised instantly by a lvl3 MC? Uh-huh... He became a Variant at lvl2. This is just far too much of a wank. And, before anybody else tries to point it out, yes, my frame of reference is a validation fantasy with the MC at its centre. That's simply how the game is structured. At this point, however, it feels like the best thing about the MC is, "Muh poWaH so spEsHuL!" The whole harpoon thing... made me groan. Might be an uncommon reception to the new move, but eh. To shift gears to meta, it feels like WW has lost steam with MC's powers, so he's started relying more on the Rule of Cool with EyeMC dead end. After months of prep, MC felt very undeveloped, as opposed to Deryl with prep. At this point... gimme MichaelMC or DerylMC, please. They're proper alphas. And I absolutely hate the whole alpha-omega terminology. It doesn't even hold true for wild wolves, let alone humans!

Also, to anybody who might think otherwise, I love Deryl. I would have my MC help him get with the harem of his dreams, even if it includes Alice. But I still need my MC to feel a bit special due to his own efforts/intelligence! So, if you want to agree with me just because you hate Deryl, feel free to do so, but know that I fundamentally don't agree with you.

I was hyped for the fight due to its implied scale, but, at the end of the day, I can't really consider it as anything more than, "quantity over quality." The fights could definitely have been cut down by a lot without loss of any information.

If you thought I'm heavily biased till now, hoo boy, will you hate the next section. So another disclaimer: The following sections are based purely on personal preferences. To a certain extent, the previous section can be considered criticism, but not the following section; it's just a rant.

At the end of the day... I'm an avid reader. So this game, despite its admirable plot (given the income of the creator), largely attracts me due to the addition of porn. But I'm not interested in NTR and FeMC (getting fucked; love futaMC). That leaves 3 scenes. Except one of them (Aglaecwif) is not legitimately obtainable. So I'm left with 2... Except, while FullNTRLiz is a bona fide badass (and semiNTRLiz is a fuckwit), RomLiz is probably the most boring character in the game. That leaves one scene... which is a boring handjob with Deryl's girl (bros before hoes, as Carefree247 pointed out) and another girl who is oversaturated with scenes. And the entire bonfire scenario felt highly out of place as it is narratively treated as the aftermath of the fight. Plus, in a situation where only certain girls would get scenes, I would have appreciated scenes with the more ignored girls (Angelina, Demi, etc.; and I don't even like Demi!). Not the most overrepresented characters, i.e. Liz and Alice.

Finally... I absolutely hate the direction of the game. The lore drops did very little for me. Some aliens, a rift in the ocean, and the Gods that the aliens worship. Leans more into, "MC powah so special," and less into, "MC pretty resourceful badass." (Michael, Deryl, and quite a few of the girls easily fulfill the latter condition and more). I believed (my fault, obviously) that MC would be the most important bastion against eldritch invasion because of himself, not his powers.

And... an arc about the twins? I like Amber, but she's a cliche, and I don't even like RomLiz. The only way I'm going to actually like the next update is if NTRLiz dies (might actually choose Liz NTR on main route), but I highly doubt that's going to happen. And, no, we're far too late into the game for the upcoming storyline to warm me up to them. Next update will decide whether I unsub from the game or not; sadly, I believe it will be the former. Shame, it's one of the few games on this site worth supporting.

I have not mentioned Laurie's death because others have already mentioned it. I agree with any opinion that suggests the whole scenario was massively contrived. MC should've easily prevented it, regardless of derylwin. MC et al should've terrified Jared out of his puny little mind. MC et al should've put Charlie et al on edge. This is just another example of MC getting lowballed for the plot.

I do not intend to defend this opinion (still might), so feel free to ignore it, hate it, or abuse it. But, if possible, definitely support WW. We need to encourage development of games of this quality. If you've read this part, thank you for reading an intoxicated idiot's rant... I need to get a life...

P.S. A bit of context: I am far more receptive to sci-fi graviton spheres and lasers than, "Animal Kingdom OP!" I am simply far to aware, from a very (very) young age that disproportionately proportional levels of strength/force are largely due to size and engineering, while not irrelevant, has a far more minor role. So, yeah, Mantis Punch and Mantis Harpoon are whatever.

Put into place? Eh, i think that place is six feet under. She treats life like the dirt under her shoes. She means to change things, but my impression is what she is trying to do is, because she could not felt like she will fit in the world as it is, she wants to burn it all and sit atop on the ashes.

I also stopped caring about porn aspect of the game with the reasons included in my previous post and it's just story itself is much more interesting.

I agree with you on most of what you're saying, to a certain extent and not necessarily to any large detriment in my enjoyment of the game. I was also one of those on the fence about the whole HERO business, but then this update things seemed to shift back a bit more towards eldritch/cosmic horror shenanigans which I love so I'm all on board for that. And I fully agree with you that regardless of how you feel about the game, WW's putting out quality work, and he actually works on his game unlike a huge chunk of the patreonbux crowd. I am not a massive fan of the player character constantly getting reminders that he's not amazing either.

All that said, I am still very happy with this update.

I get what you're saying. Personally I really like her as a character, as long as she's under my control and obedient and not running around causing chaos constantly. Her name even tells you everything you need to know, since she's basically a nine tailed fox type of character, constant drama and incredibly chaotic.

I got the bad end when my good guy ass accepted eye boy offer, but no Deus though the dialogue makes me think about Ella.

"Until i feel a presence beside me holding my hand
-It's alright
The voice is warm and kind, unlike the harsh raspy voice i was speaking to before
-We're together now
It comes through heavily distorted, i'm not sure if it's male or female. And yet conforts me all the same, asswaging my fears me loneliness
Cradling me in it's gentle embrace
I sink deeper but not in the dark
I sink deeper...into the warm bosom of the figure beside me
Our bodies, our souls merge, and finally i feel complete.
Dead End 36: Born Again"

My guess, eye boy took over and either absorbed Ella so we met inside him or she pulled one on him and absorbed his ass instead.
Sounded more like RealMom to me. Remember, that's a mystery that is yet to be solved, whether it reveals the MC's memories are fabricated or otherwise.

2)Cosmic Hierarchy, we now are aware of the beliefs and factions of the eldritch beings.
PSA: Valravn and Aglaecwif are unreliable narrators. Their beliefs are likely a distorted hint at the actual lore rather than than the reality.

Except, possibly, the Ocean of Strength. Both seemed very confident about that.

Unlike most people here, Outer Twins intrigue me the most. Even more than Arbiters.

Absolutely, mate, viva WW! And, yeah, just needed to get the rant off my chest. Twins' involvement has me apprehensive, but doubt next update will disappoint: it hints at heavy Alice+AliceMonPapa involvement (yay!), RealPapa involvement (yay!!), and Jeff can only mean more Brianna (yay!!!). Fingers crossed.

Oh, another PSA, but only for Pure (non-corrupt) route players: Make sure your last choice related to the helmet is to wear it. This prevents a lot of mandatory corruption gain, and even allows you to kill Wang without gaining any corruption. Don't understand? Well, basically, if you want to watch the news or browse your phone at night, that is perfectly fine. Just make sure that, if you only have the option to sleep with or without helmet, sleep with the helmet. That is enough. For now.

Follow-up to my previous post: As long as I'm wishing for unicorns, I hope we get an arc with depowered MC, with his original appearance. Might be completely devoid of sex scenes with MC (reactions to MC's original appearance from most characters is, "Eww!" and that's fine), but, after current update, I want to see MC... at least be awesome, if not a badass, without his powers. Alice, Michael, Deryl, Tess, Mia, Amber, Tiffany, Liz... pretty much everybody other than MC (and Dave and Jordan) is awesome without their powers, in one way or another. Need this for the MC too. He definitely has the motivation now.

Strikes me as weird that you don't go back to the helmet choice after watching the news/using your phone.

between that one time we ran away from home for like a month and repressed traumatic memories around the whole eyes thing, I think that's pretty possible.
I completely forgot about the running away, that would explain a lot if the MC found Ellas squatting house, or that's where she got the idea for a house where kids just show up and live and decide things on their own.

1: "To think the it would split in a direction like this." What would split if not time/alternate realities/dimensions? "You've progressed too far; I need to find another point." Another point where he hasn't progressed too far is the only way you can read that sentence, as in he has to either go back in time to where you haven't progressed, or, something that's a bit more likely, travel to a different dimension where this hasn't happened, anchor both of your existences together, and kill that one. Deus also being a quite clear reference to "Deus ex Machina" it stands to reason that there's more to him than meets the eye.

2: Absolutely, but all of this makes sense if he doesn't truly believe she's dead in the first place, or he doesn't want to be forced to explain what he saw when he scanned "her" corpse to HERO or be mindscanned forcibly. All of these presuppositions are obviously just me handwaving something which could mean something in the story, or more likely it's just WW either a: writing themselves into a corner or b: slipped their mind.

3: A plothole is a very specific kind of story error, this is just characters acting in stupid ways, which isn't a plothole in itself. Regardless, his transforming of other people isn't easy, and him transforming alpha breaker wasn't done while he was currently exploding into pieces, same with Johan and the trap, he could take his time and make sure none of the power went out of wack and suddenly there's a 10 feet tumorous head on her corpse. There's more information on the minutiae of how his transforming power works if you go the Snow White route iirc. You have to take into account that her head is currently in pieces and he's using his concentration to keep the pieces from flying off, in addition to being a brain, orders of magnitude more complex than whatever he's done previous.
So I replayed whole game with different branches after a little bit of sleep and my points stand mostly the same:

1. I do mostly agree on Deuses fuckeroo, but still don't think it's gonna be presented like something in those opinions. Guess we'll see.

2. Somehow it made even less sense second time. From text alone, without any assumptions and guess-work it's like MC doesn't even register that something happened. Which still would be better said than not, since whole game is usually quite descriptive of his thought process. I guess maybe my problem is that it's a little bit out of style? Don't know, just doesn't feel right.

3. Even worse then I initially read. Whole scene is unbelievable at best. It's like it does everything in it wrong.
But I will say, I re-read that text tons of time by now, and it does say basically that only thing stopping MC is not having memories, which we clearly gain when we fuck her. You can't understand it differently it's literally written like that.
I'm gonna shut up about that scene - don't think my opinion will change any time soon and much has been told.

Also some new thoughts:
So MC hits himself with memory restore and still doesn't remember nothing about mothers' death. From what I gathered, he's not remembering much about being kid, and nothing new here also. Ok, it was in battle/evo/etc, but why not try later? We're literally fastforwarded after battle and still he's done nothing. Yet Mia instantly becomes complete. Huh.

Fights became more tedious. Less action, more useless description. New moves kinda suck by being not really practical, laughted from spear move. Definitely more animeish in a bad way.

Also, at this point it's better to state that I do overall enjoy WWs work and I do not like VNs. I hope nobody thinks that I'm flaming with negativity, just something that feels out of place in my mind.

anyone have a fix for the whole evolving but it not showing up thing?
It changes nothing and will be fixed at later builds.

I edited a save so that I asked Aglaecwif all questions. To be honest, it's kind of annoying that you're limited in that regard: unless asking the right ones yields some tangible benefit in the future, it feels like you have to sacrifice a gain in power or skill just to know more about that sweet lore. You can just reload of course, but the MC himself doesn't retain that knowledge.

Anyway, I edited the values so that I could then ask Valravn questions related to the info you get from Aglaecwif:

  • Ella's plan is about gathering monster hearts to summon the Apostles. When MC mentions that Aglaecwif finds her plan too evil and unknown even for her, Valravn laughs but agrees that she's old but "not devoted enough" to possess the knowledge for the ritual in the first place. However, Valvravn says that it's not beyond him.

  • The gods worshipped by monsters. Valravn is pretty dismissive about them as he considers the Lord of Dark the only god, the one who will slay all others.

  • The reason monsters give powers to humans is istinctual, to spread their genes; it's also how they colonise planets by turning everyone into monsters, though Aglaewif specifies that she doesn't know if the colonisation of planets is the reason for this istinct or it's actually something else. Valravn thinks that it being an instinctual behavior is as good as reason as any, though he questions what drives such instinct. He guesses that "perhaps a certain two parasites desire the connection that comes with such power", referring to the link that strenghtens whenever a superhuman evolves (he's apparently not talking about the parent monsters since he says "something else beyond this realm" that's unknown to him). Then he goes right back to saying that it doesn't matter since the Lord of Dark will eventually sunder all bonds.

  • The dimension where monsters come from. We already know Valravn is not a natural monster but one that mutated on Earth, but he says that he's been in the monster dimension, although not for long. He describes the monster dimension as a "realm of corruption and decay, suitable for the likes of that harlot (Aglaecwif)", a place where humans wouldn't survive long. The monster dimension is inhabited by many monsters, more than the human population.

  • The greatest power is Order, the result of a spawn of the First (Authority, Jake's monster parent) and the Second (Power, Michael's monster parent). Valravn doesn't really add anything new to this, only mentioning that it's rare even for Twin Apostles to act together, which makes the MC pretty damn unique since he's the only (successful) spawn of Twins, whereas Ella was presumably spawned like us but ended up focusing on Body and failed to manifest significant traits of Memory.

Actually I changed my mind on that since:
It's the eye... Not mother, not father...

You "Who... Who are you?"
Unknown "I don't have a name."
You "....What are you then?"
Unknown "....An origin."
You "Am I supposed to know what that means?"
Unknown "I trust you'll figure it out soon enough."
Unknown "I mean, who can you trust, if not yourself?"

The big question is if the eye comes from the monsters or if it already was there before you got infected...
Even in your first evolution there's hints it might already been there before you got infected...
(or it was put there... and that first evolution memory was your own... Ella and you being the last 2 of originally 12 kids being used for some experiment)

"My brain throbs and my spine aches."
"I hear a voice. It's faint, barely audible. But it's growing louder and louder."
You "What... what is this?"
"A memory enters my mind."
"A memory that is not my own."

And later :

"My mind sinks deep within me, back through body. Through my cells. Through my very DNA."
"Memories of the distance past are located there, the genetic legacy of humanity. Improved and refined throughout the ages."
You "The future... this is our future..."

Narratively, MC vs Valrawn is still WW's master stroke in terms of writing. Sometimes simple is best and the story of the fight is ingeniously crafted around the fact that the MC cannot win through skill but through intelligent use of his power. Its arguably the first fight where MC is outclassed.

It's all building up to the one good use of the mantis punch. It's also got Valrawn's perspective and how the fight is actually draining him. Although MC deals sparse damage, any damage that is dealt is permanent, whereas MC just tanks everything Valrawn does. Simple yet effective contrast
