And possibly the biggest star of the update was Deryl, that campfire party in the cave he set up was the best thing...and just seeing Amber snap out of her trauma for just a bit to rail against Deryl having cheated on her and later even smiling towards the end of the party was so good to see. Deryl was happy to see her snap at him too because he understood the good it did her to at least momentarily forget about the horrors she had been through. Not to mention how much Deryl helped during the fight with Cole. All of that is top notch character redemption for a character that started to get on a lot of people's nerves as of late.
I always liked deryl even when he was a fucking retard
but yeah i agree with everything. The whole "creating everything for the group while creating their way out too" addionatly really showed his usefullness, he just isnt really a fighter himself but hes an amazing support in and out fight.
I liked how he blamed himself for what happened to Amber and Liz too when talking to the mc, he was really and sincerly down for being unable to protect the twins and being such a failure in the fight against evander and his sister. And i liked the possibility to tell him that shen would have fucked them anyway, no matter what... he could have added that HERO actually were the ones responsible for fucking this up.
Bernhardt for not going himself in the first place and the time-travelers/seers in particular.
A lot of new info about Ella too that at least partially paints her in a new light. I still want a lot more answers before I'm willing to say she isn't just pure evil but I am a lot more willing to hear her out when the time for answers comes.
I can see how people dont like her but not really how you can consider her pure evil, at least not in this universe. She obviously has some knowledge which drives her actions and i think she does a lot of things because shes convinced it is necessary for the future (whatever future that may be).
But I am lot more worried about Michael becoming a problem...this update makes the dude seem like he was always more machine than human even long before he became a superhuman. Him admitting to the MC that he has no idea how to relate or empathize with people, and the whole story about how he lost his virginity as well as the way he answered Amber's question about dealing with memories just made it seem like he had never in his life experienced any genuine human emotions. He did say that he trusts the MC to be his moral compass guide so you know...no pressure. My own MC I played as a cold immoral bastard until the Amber and Liz situation snapped him out of it so my MC being Michael's moral guide feels like the blind leading the fool. I do hope that if he ever becomes an enemy we can redeem him.
And last but not least, Alice relationship is still the best.
Michael always was like that, his dad obviously fucked him up really bad (sending him in a warzone with 14 and pumping him up with combat drugs says everything lol) and probably had some kind of mental condition in the first place already considering his brother Mett seems to be way more normal at least when we talk about emotions.
But as is shown in his relationship with alice, Michael still seems to value loyality highly which makes me worry less about him. Just dont let him rule the world or something like that
And hes not against taking advice, as was shown this update and when he asked the MC if he should take the pill to get powers.
