Different power sets, the MC and Ella's power involve skill at moving their body far beyond what is required of any other creature and mastery of what they can change it into, it's probably the powerset that gains more from skill than any other.

This is random asf but I had a dream that was so superhuman like the game's functions and shit stats etc like it was so cool my powers were like if I punched depending on how much energy I put into it it would cause like an implosion on people I hit and there was this girl who was pretty much telling me im a frog in a well and shit calling me weak and I'm like "yeah im pretty weak all I can do is punch" (its not like the people I fought were fodder but they were too crazy yknow?) and I throw out a joking punch and she made me feel so much fucking pain just by talking to me she said some "your ribs hurt" and I felt the worst fucking pain imaginable felt like someone was digging my ribs out and she kept saying my thoughts and the pain got worse. After I woke up after passing out the people around me pretty much said she was like insanely powerful.

Wrong!!! Even the MC was focusing more on his body at first and not his skills, but after his first fight with deryl he learn that he can't always depend on his ability to regenerate. But Cole knew he had problems with range and even after his fight with Valvaran he did not try to improve.

Personally, I would be very surprised if Cole improved his skills any after his loss to the MC, because that would mean he was still a person, capable of learning and growing as a result of choices he made. I can't believe that Tanos is just going to fix him up. That "I'll fix every last thing wrong with you" as he grins at a helpless Cole does not come across as a sincere promise to help. Nah, if Cole ever does come back, he's coming back as components of a chimera. Not really him anymore, just him giving one of Tanos' creations some firepower.

You're looking at it from a mechanical perspective, a lot of what the MC does in his training is a matter of skill, technique and practice. The dependency on regeneration is a matter of tactical skill.

Well for MC yes because because he does not have nothing with range, now because we train the memory part of our powers we can make a lot of combos, The only training Cole got to improve was when he was little with Xante.

My guess would be that Shen knows. It would be hard not to know with the volume of people he's been feeding to Tanos' lab only to never emerge. He's probably just deluded enough to think things like "it's worth it for Big Sis' goals" and "at least Tanos is on our side". Zara, though, she might not know. Given Zara's importance for S.I.N.'s command system, Tanos will probably not unveil any sort of Cole Tyrant until he's got a way to get her under his thumb like how it's implied he's going to do with Charlie.

Skill as a stat almost certainly is about how well you fight, not just melee skill.
Not only does that make more sense, as there's no other stat to reflect other aspects of fighting ability, but Klaus had similar skill to the MC and still loses in melee because he's not that good with a spear specifically.

The only other people with a character profile we've seen were as unskilled in melee as they were with their power.
Cole needs no explanation, all Danica does is look at people to mark them or send crosses at them, and Oscar is mentally retarded.
