I wasn't the biggest fan of Ella through most of the game, but tbh throughout the Monster world arc Ella has redeemed herself to me. She seems less villainous when we're forced to be around her. Oh and also the flashback with her and young mc was cute.

if all 3 options kill you, then it should be a mistake you made earlier in battle.
most battles keep track of your mistake count. then there is a spot where if you had too many mistakes accrued during battle you die even if you are choosing the right choice.
Also sometimes a mistake will kill you instantly, other times you can power through it with stats, but it still remembers you made a bad choice
You can just replay a few times trying different things.
Or you can try playing with URM. it will help you track the variables as they change. so you can see the choices and what variables each gives.
