My theory is Ella messed with the Shadow's intelligence somehow perhaps just as an experiment early on with her powers to see what she could do with them.

My bad had to look through my saves to find a direct mention of it couldn't find it but I remember what most of the scene was.
So if my memory serves right after helping Emily be able to stand up for herself, Shadow gives the MC something she found one day (I can't remember exactly what it is, confused it at first with a finger that Alice/her dad has) but after that she goes to sleep and that's all I can recall from it.

I chose that, because with that option you can pay for Emily's dad. The 20k gives you an Emily point, or two. And you can buy everything from the shop, and you will never need money after that so why not.
