I was thinking that Nico is probably with him out there. Like, thats why he was looking for any survivors left and how he was getting them out safely. Malik didn't fly off into space on his own. Nico is teleporting out with him on some mission.
I think it could also make sense for Malik being the one doing the exploration, since he is one of the three strongest Superhumans of the current iteration of Humanity, he could probably deal with most things that show up, like he did with those Ancient Monsters, Nico while obviously faster and more proper for such mission might have problems with whatever she encounters on x Planet/Outer Space, besides, i'm sure her ability is more needed on earth, while Malik's raw power void is covered by Bernhardt and Henri

It makes no sense for him to leave Earth to search for people otherwise, and the dramatic dialogue doesn’t match up either.
If they were going to send someone to space it would be Nico since she can literally travel galaxies in a second, not Malik.
I think is safe to assume that Malik's mind is a mess, I mean, despite him being as friendly with MC, and clearly having some moral still, he is far too emotional, he was gonna use a Planck Attack with Ella within Hex's dimension on a fit of rage, while Bernhardt thanked the Eye for left earth before using such attack, meaning that it would be devasting to the Planet, he also lighted up the warehouse in which Alexis was after Aglaecwif touched a nerve. And the way he refer to the voices in his head is 'Brothers/Sisters', he don't call anyone on HERO that, besides Henri and Bernhardt, this make me think that Malik's corruption or maybe a common mental illness make him hallucinate the voices of Early HERO members that died or people he knew as a thug before being recruited by M-Corp, I do like your point of it being regardless something caused by Glae, but I think is more on the line of her having shaked his beliefs, resulting in Malik abandoning Earth to search for Ancient Human planets that she mentioned, previous 'Cycles'

The brothers and sisters part is the most intriguing thing about the whole scene.

The cycles part is what made me come up with the far fetched theory that Malik, and maybe the others too, are from failed civilizations. That would explain why he hates monsters so much and why saving humanity is his first and foremost goal.

But what you said about brothers and sisters referring to M Corp doesn't really make sense, since M Corp was only five people and they’re all still alive right now.

I also don’t think he’s out in space alone. It doesn’t make sense at the moment, but maybe we’ll be given a reason in the next update. Still, that would make Aglaecwif underwhelming as a character if she's just dealt with like that and the story moves on. That doesn’t feel right.

So for me it’s one hundred percent Aglaecwif’s power. The only thing I really want explained is the voices.

Was M Corp always just the five big boys? It could have initially been a whole ass army, and the big five were the ones who survived and became superhumans.

Maybe thats who the brothers and sisters are. The initial band of soldiers, back when they were all normal human. Before they all died. And Malik's corruption manifests as their voices in his head.

And if your theory is right, maybe thats who the people he's getting out before popping the planet are. The fantasy could be Malik in a loop of saving his lost brothers/sisters and destroying the planet. Maybe even feeding into and worsening his corruption, a ploy by Aggy to make him unstable and go nuts.

I'm warming up to the idea the more I think on it.

It could be fellow soldiers if he was one before, or like BenoTF25 said, maybe some of the old HERO members or lieutenants from his team who died. But M Corp? No. I think M Corp was created specifically because of the five superhumans in the first place. That’s why Dexter’s father got permission to act independently. It wasn’t just a normal army before that.

Again I’m sure it’s Aglaecwif’s power. Fantasy and memory are powers that no matter how strong you are, you can’t easily deal with them. That’s how Syla took Indra into the dream world. And fantasy is even stronger in that sense, since Aglaecwif told the MC this is more of a fantasy playfield than memory.

I feel like Aglaecwif is just feeding him his biggest nightmare, either from the past or a future he’s afraid of. I think both the Malik scene and Zack’s moment with Indra were added to hype the monsters and make them feel like a real threat. WW had been hyping only HERO for so long, and it doesn’t make for much of a story if one side is overwhelmingly strong and always wins whenever the captains get involved.

So what did you guys name your alternate persona? Mine was Nycto
No-Thing!

I tried to play it off like Daryl asked MC what his hero name was, and he said "Nothing" and everyone mis-interpreted it.

I think it also works because the MC doesn't have a real "set" shape, they are everything (and nothing)

It also just sounds so unbearably edgy, which imo is appropriate for the setting. Everytime MC says something like "I am No-Thing" or "No-Thing will save you" I can just imagine 12 year old me pumping his fist as much as 28 year old me is cringing and I love it
