We have no clue. He's given contradictory answers on this. Sometimes he says that v1.0 is the end, then he works on a Vampire game, before making Superhuman 2 to pick up where we leave off. Some say that he's gonna make v1.0 just the big update where he goes back and modernizes all the beginning sections of the game to be better in line with the later CGs, and that he will continue updating the game past v1.0. Really dunno.

He hasn't given contradictory answers, just different answers at different points in time, but everything lines up.

WW said he had more games lined up after Superhuman.
At some point after that, he decided to end Superhuman soon and update the earlier art, while rehauling how some of the stats work, and adding some new scenes. Apparently he didn't know how version numbering worked. This means that the only reason he's ending the game is because he's running out of numbers to name his versions.
He fully intends to continue Superhuman, and probably won't even make a separate application. I doubt he'll even take a break.

Anything else you've heard is people hearing separate statements and not understanding the full context.

Ah, I didn't realize the machine we used on ourselves this most recent update got rid of 3 corruption points. Might need to replay a pure route, though I still think a low corruption route is best so far.

I'm also wondering if it's about time for the Chekhov's gun that is MC's mark to rear it's head. Even though others have said otherwise, I think when MC returns to the human world, he's gonna run into Indra, get into a scuffle with him, forcing him to evolve, but still losing. Maybe the mark can be the "not perfect win" condition insurance. Then again, some people have suggested that the requirements for the fifth evolution include beating opponents that are stronger than us, and losing to Indra might mean we fail them. Hmm.

I've learned to appreciate the fact that less choice generally means far better story quality and a longer game. With branching choices most people just end up picking only one optimal one anyway and the rest end up ignored. Superhuman in general has a 10/10 story quality and the length of this update was really good too.

Agree. my favorite VN has no choice at all (Umineko). I also hate sandbox VN, it's just a waste of time walking on a jpeg map.

Having too many choices in a vn is a very ambitious project for a single dev.

It's a too of work and can quickly spiral out of control with numerous branching paths.

Additionally, it would divide the fanbase too much over which branch of choices the dev should prioritize.

Plus, WW is planning to create sequels from SH, and if there if there are too many variations, it would be a pain in the ass to work with and manage in the long run.

Take Mass Effect 3 as an example. The three endings essentially crippled the potential for direct sequels, which is why the studio shifted their focus to creating Andromeda.

As you can see, it’s an enormous challenge for a single dev, let alone a AAA gaming studio.

People who complain about choice often have completely unrealistic expectations as if they expect the writer to have what are essentially 4 different stories on the go, even BG3 a big budget choice game made in the 10's of millions with a large team, can only deviate so much and the biggest change for choice can only really be shown at the end.

Laurie, a minor character can potentially die, this means that character can never be meaningful to the plot, the major story beats need to proceed as if she died, look at Jake, major character in the early game and after can only show up in side scenes. Expecting us to be able to remove the Poster Child of the game Ella, any time before the end, retarded expectations.

I'm not saying he should do this or that, up to him, couldn't care less. I mostly trust his process, been enjoying the game so far. Just that there are options how to handle it. If he makes the game more "kinetic", people bitch. If he makes it more branching then in the sequel makes a canon choice himself people bitch. Not everyone can be satisfied.

I mean, I did warn you that your choices don't matter when it came to Ella. You have to be a prisoner to her plot. I would even say that you should prepare yourself for MC to mindlessly go along with Ella's plan and make her dream come true. Not like he has an end goal for himself anyway.

No matter what WW chooses, he is always going alienate players. That said, It's fair criticism to the game. I don't know why people have a problem with other people being disappointed that options don't do anything meaningful. They shouldn't be in the game if they don't do anything.

This isn't a kinetic novel. If you put choices in the game, then you set the expectation that they will do something. Saying that people shouldn't expect them to do anything doesn't alleviate the issue at all. Those choices still exist in the game. They don't just disappear because people want to say the game is actually linear.

I doubt it will happen. MC knows he's important for her plan, but he's not going to leverage it. That's just how the game is. They're bound by a fate called WW. I could even see MC refusing to do it being a dead end at the end lol.

We still don't know what actually is the plan. And, given that even Aglaeswif supposedly don't know about that ritual (and she is one of the oldest characters there, so there is little she doesn't know) and Ella with her 8-10 years of superhuman experience somehow know it, I wonder if it is really Ella's plan all along. Maybe the real mastermind is something else and it just using Ella as a blind tool, which would be very ironic.
That said, I'm more interested about Deus involvement. It seems that his dream was about future Earth, where things clearly gone poorly for the humans, so either Ella's plan failed or didn't bring results she expected. And he did warn MC about not trusting her much (as did the judge from 9's path), so following her blindly would certainly backfire. I'm pretty sure that whatever Ella's cooking will fail spectacularly one way or another and MC with friends will be cleaning her mess like always, just on different scale.

No its not, its simply bad writing. Why do you even give the "choice" to hate an a character when it leads to nothing? Atleast have the MC become some cuck simp for Ella from the start so he has an incentive to be a dog for her.

2. Every person who gets chosen by the first apostle seems mentally unfit for its power. Maybe if Jake acted like he did when he got his 2nd evolution and locked in during the sector capture but cmon the 1st apostle choosing Supreme Cuck Alistair later???? Wtf.

3. Why do i need to fuck Christie? I literally DO NOT WANT TO LOOSE MY VIRGINITY TO HER.

And this is an important note, with us soon completing the monster world arc and approaching the final blue moon arc we can perhaps assume the game will be finished within 2 years. How do you guys think it will play out? Will it end with us choosing which apostle gets resurrected to dominate? Will it be Henri accepting and fully understanding his powers to fight against a monster resurrected apostle? How do you guys think it will play out?

To be fair, you losing your v-card to Christie is a skill issue. You can lose it to Liz instead, if you progress through her route before you sneak into the club and get caught by Christie.
