Honestly, this is kinda disheartening. A single, small-time developer pausing mid-way through a project may not go well. The game's popularity has traction and momentum that may slow down during the transition to a new game and be lost altogether depending on how well the new game does and how quickly it catches on. Those who support devs for certainWW might just want to take a bit of a break from SH or working on games, and later maybe explore other themes and try to make different stories in different worlds. Something to considered.
content may not stick around if they don't like the new game or very specifically are only supporting the previous game. Not to mention the possibility of the game developer never coming back to complete it is a real one due to a multitude of reasons. It's not unheard of for people in this field to just drop their careers one day and move on.
Hopefully, I'm just being a Debbie downer and these doubts will be unfounded. WW has a great deal of talent for art and storytelling, and from what I understand has been planning these other game ideas for some time. It would just be a shame to never see the completion of this epic story.
