For anyone wondering if they should restart from the begining to see what changed or skip to sandbox, the only real difference is that pretty much every spicy scene featuring Eve before the sandbox has been removed. The only thing that happens is an accidental kiss. Honestly I get that things moved too fast before, but I'd rather have more buildup added than have scenes removed. But it is what it is.

As for the minigames, I don't think they add anything, no need for them, but they're also not the disaster some people are making them out to be. I guess if you're in a touchpad it might be awkward, but if you're on a mouse and struggling, I really don't know what to tell you.

Yeah, I felt like the pacing was a bit off, progressing too quickly. Some scenes were removed indeed, but there's now more in-between scenes now for Eva and Emily in the sandbox/shelter stage.

As said before, cute looking characters and render/art style, but the progression is simply tedious and slow, this is an old issue with hobbyist game/AVN developers who churn out content at a slow pace. Its not that players and supporters are ungrateful, but I for one call a spade a spade and thats simply that this games development is slow, its actual progress in game, character, relationship and plot development is slow, despite its quality being decent...pity really as with many AVNs

So whats up with these locked choices right at the beginning? Are they locked because of rework shenanigans or did I already fail getting the right points with my first few choices? Or is that some paid content?

Older saves won't work, but I've added an option to skip to sandbox stage.

Yours,
R.B.
Wait, what is the difference between the paid version and public version scene wise?

How is the sandbox implemented? And is it grindy? I'm more of a VN player myself and don't like sandbox although i do play them when they are more VN than sandbox and the sandbox is not grindy.

You can enable an option to skip mini-games as follows:
  1. While in-game, open up the settings menu
  2. In the settings, enable Dev Menu
  3. A new submenu will appear called Development Menu, click on it
  4. Enable Mini-Game Skip in this menu
That will add a skip button in the bottom-right corner of the screen for the majority of mini-games.

Thanks for providing this useful information. Also, will there be any penalty to the players story, if they choose to bypass the all mini game content (...I ask this as we have seen other titles do this, where the player would miss-out on some side content if they choose to bypass their MG's)?

Regards

Mostly just point & click. Talk with *character name*, click on the gate in the morning and such. The game guides you through it. There are some quick-time events that can also be skipped if you enable it in the developer menu.

New story quests, new character events. It's a bit shorter compared to other updates as I merged some of the new content from the latest version to the public version this time.

Affection+ choices are typically highlighted in dark pink color. Missing them will lock you out of character route during the initial (pre-shelter) stage of the game.

Nope. I added this option specifically for players who enjoy a more laid-back experience.

I'm excited to play the new version of the game once I'm through with my current backlog of work. Unpopular opinion, perhaps, but I actually enjoy QTEs and minigames. Some of my favorite games from the past had those either effectively (original Dead Space) or literally (Until Dawn), so it's nice to see them. I do really appreciate, though, the option to skip them. You're going to help out your audience a lot by letting those who detest them avoid them entirely.

Thank you for adding the skip feature for the mini-games. I could not determine what I was supposed to do when the MC and Hannah were outside the compound and the MC tried to kill the zombie. Nothing happened when I clicked on AIM, other than it turned red.

I know that this is likely pointless, but I'm gonna try some constructive criticism nevertheless. The mini games (yeah, sorry) don't really work for me, because they aren't really skill-based, you don't need to get better at them, and you cannot influence them with the rest of the gameplay. So they stick out, and basically are quick time events of the "are you still awake??" kind. Just that it's not some single butten press to check if you're just skipping dialogue, but it's 11 pointless clicks out of nowhere that don't even have anything to do with the action on screen. "Aim!" a meter next to the Zombie. "Pierce!" the air to the left of the Zombie. It feels disjointed and wierd. The "click a lot to move the crate" one is better in context, because it kinda makes sense. But yeah, just my opinion...

Like I said, I get why you did it, but also don't think it was handled quite right. Please don't take my comments the wrong way, I'm just giving honest feedback since you seem like a chill dude that is willing to listen.

The impression I got is that you didn't necessarily made the buildup better, you just postponed it. We still never get the MC showing any remorse about perhaps cheating on his wife who may or may not be dead. We never get Eva questioning betraying the woman that supposedly means so much to her (let alone if we're applying the kind of relationship Patreon doesn't like). In the end, the buildup is still basically "I liked it, you liked it, lets keep going".

For reference, I'll have to use the game "Now & Then", which imo nails the setting you're going for. In that game, the situation they're in has a key role in the characters decisions. Yes, their relationship is taboo. But they're in the freaking apocalypse, all they have is each other. All of society and it's rules are gone, who's gonna judge them? Are they supposed to give up on love because of a society that no longer exists? Those are the kind of thoughts you'd expect to see out of the characters.

Now this is not advocating for another rework. I don't think this one was needed to begin with. I appreciate you trying to improve the story, but I'm just saying that these are the kinds of things you should focus on when trying to make it more compelling. If these moments of reflection are present, it doesn't matter that much if the intimacy starts on minute 10 or minute 30.

In the end, I think this version was a mild upgrade, mainly because of the camping scenes (the thighjob could use an alternate angle but i digress). But at the same time, I don't think the changes to the story really justify the content removal. Sorry for the wall of text.

The first release I played I a decent amount of content. This last release, look all the content away from Eva, and was like 1 mission worth of story progression. Oh well.
