First - Congrats on making your first post here on the SA thread... using an almost 7 year old user id no less...

Cracking the seal on one of those alt id's must have come after quite the internal discussion... ;)

Where to use your very first comment with this alt id created so long ago???

'It's stuff like this that keep me coming back to this thread' - and commenting with different user id's as well!

You and the other user id - same person or different persons - doesn't really matter does it, can go on and on about how SA should change, while ignoring the perspectives of others because they don't match your own.

As has been said now, many times, what you both are asking for is Not something $ supporters are asking for.

It is fine to have your own opinion and desires but expecting a story that is already about 6.5 years into the journey to ignore the asks of the $ supporters and, instead - adapt to your desires/address your unusual critiques is simply an act of entitlement.

I understand - this is not unusual on this forum.
First I was a porn-focused meanie and now I'm someone else's alt? And where did I even ask the dev for anything? I just went on the discussion thread of a game I was playing to see if anyone else experienced the same issues with the game's writing. Then a day or two later after finishing my playthrough, I wrote a final review and moved onto another game.

It was up to the dev what he chose to do with the feedback. And what he chose was a reply. One insinuating in the nicest way possible that I was too porn-addled to understand all the complexity and depth of a baggage-based relationship. I'm not sure what you would expect of me. Should I not have responded to that? To others that are nice enough to come to my defense? To those rabidly accusing me of being an alt for having agreed with someone?

If you want to know the truth of it, I didn't ask for specific changes because I don't think this game is all that fixable. Especially since I focused on just the worst issue in my review. That's why I gave it a 1 star. To warn my future self and others that this game is unfortunately a dead end. The conversation I had with the dev was mostly just to explain to him why I came to that conclusion. I understand he put a lot into this so I felt I owed him that much.

Personally, if I received that kind of criticism I'd reflect on why my writing was coming off that way. Obviously I would not be happy but even if I disagreed with the specifics, it's still a strong indicator that I'm not getting my stories and characters off the way I intended. But it's no sweat off my ass if it gets rationalized away entirely. It's not my craft.

When I find an AVN to check out, I look at the tags, decide whether to download or not, and if downloaded -check it out.

If I like it, I stay and provide feedback on what I like/what I don't like and engage the community.

I also assess how long an AVN has been in production.

An AVN that is out for a few months to perhaps a year, and where the dev is asking for feedback - I feel like I have something to offer as One person who tried their creation, and I will provide that feedback - especially if I enjoy the AVN enough to return for multiple downloads.

If an AVN has been in production for years, I recognize the best way to offer feedback is by choosing to support a dev with $ and commenting as a supporter with skin in the game.

I know a number of devs who don't bother checking F95 because some of the user-ids think that their opinions have the merit and weight worth far more than that of a single user id.

As for me - if I have little positive to say about an AVN, I actually choose to move on.

If enough aspects of an AVN are not to my liking, like: the writing style, the render quality, the graphics style, UI, etc, I might offer feedback once, but then I move on.

After all - I've has 'my say' so - why stay?

For those who want to camp and complain - have at it!

I have a significant backlog of AVNs to check out on F95 and I intend to enjoy one or more on my weekend.

Cheers!! :coffee:

That's nice but thankfully it doesn't work that way. In actuality, there's no closing window for critical feedback and reviews. Certainly not if the dev himself is the one reaching out to you for it. Nor is it recommended to reserve game critique for when you're ready to provide it alongside a bribe. That's a rather unhealthy perspective.

As for the tags, they do not give all the information. By these tags this would be a 6 out of 5 game for me. That's why we have the discussion and review sections. It exists not just to stroke developers egos with complements. But to help players inform themselves about the game. To fill in the crucial details that the tags could never provide.

This only works if you allow people to discuss a game's shortcomings without jumping down their throats. If players take the time to explain why they didn't like the game before moving on. Instead of creating toxic positivity scenarios where every game on this website has a 4+ score because everyone else gets bullied into moving on immediately.

The only people that did something wrong here are those that continue to attack reviewers and commenters for expressing their opinions on the game through proper channels. If you want them to move on, let them. They don't want to be here either so stop baiting them back by calling them alts and impugning their intentions.

Cheers!! :coffee:

I thought I would post it here as well because I know plenty of people are looking forward to it. :)

These will be the main characters of the second project I started working on.
More information about them will be made public on patreon, subscribestar and discord in the coming weeks (Every Wednesday more information about one of the characters.)
(I will post that information here next month all at once. Simply because I don't want to clutter this thread too much with information about another game. :) )

Not gonna lie but those models look way worse than anything in SA...
