CCP is anti-gaming and anti-porn to protect their youth, Fujino should move to taiwan or go to japan/south korea, but I doubt he has enough money to do so since he only makes around 2k-3k from patreon+other sources
this is really worrying, I hope he finds a way to get through this situation, whether he changes countries or I don't know. In any case, it is frustrating that when we finally have a big netorare game producer on the market he is suffering from concerns in his country..

Yeah i was thinking like "weren't china and Taiwan kind of like north and south korea?! Not easy to migrate between the 2"

Were the arrest at least with some plausible reason like i don't know CP? Although i doubt because if it was THAT then devs and artist wouldn't feel so threathened.....
So in China, spreading porn(not necessary selling) is illegal with crime charge, and slightly lighter charge compare to hold drugs. But it's all selective law enforcement, so basically if you hide yourself well enough, and the police is not interested in you, you are mostly fine. If you are reported and the police need money from the fine, you got in trouble. Given that the economy situation in China become worse, making $2k/month is something somebody can become jealous about.

The reason I know for those 5 writers(maybe more) arrested is that one of the writer got reported by haters and he betrayed the distribution site owner(who is a Taiwanese in China) in exchange for lower charge. This linked to a lot writer on that distribution site. No final result for those charge/arrested has been confirmed, but this is what I know.

(edit)
BTW, it' not that hard to immigrate from Taiwan to China, if you just keep saying good things about CCP on social media.

Before the game was translated using MTL so everything was translated but the english was kinda wonky and text on images like the message board was not translated. Now there is a person doing the translations. The english is better but not a direct translation anymore and the text on images are translated in subtitles too. Somethings are not translated, I noticed. I am guessing it is the human just missing them. I let the developer know on Patreon so hopefully the next english release it will fix them. But with the trouble the Chinese government is giving, there might not be another release.

(1)处三年以下有期徒刑、拘役或者管制,并处罚金;
(2)情节严重的,处三年以上十年以下有期徒刑,并处罚金;
(3)情节特别严重的,处十年以上有期徒刑或者无期徒刑,并处罚金或者没收财产。

Hello, I'm a Chinese gamer, and to answer your question, China has very strict controls on all games, because there is no adult rating in China (such as R18, R15, R8) so electronic games and e-books and comics are very strict in China, It must be all ages (even if some leaks and gore have been reported in previous games). The author is a producer of adult games and paid for them. This is spreading obscene materials for profit. Anyone who reports can be arrested

What are the sentencing standards for the crime of spreading obscene materials for profit

1. The sentencing standards for the crime of spreading obscene materials for profit need to be determined according to the circumstances of the crime. They are:

(1) be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than three years, criminal detention or public surveillance and shall also be fined;

(2) if the circumstances are serious, he shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than three years but not more than 10 years and shall also be fined;

(3) if the circumstances are especially serious, he shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than 10 years or life imprisonment and shall also be fined or sentenced to confiscation of property.

So from what I've read, we can reluctantly say that there will likely be no further updates to the game:(:(:(

Let's just wait for the dev to make a post explaining the situation in more detail. I mean don't get me wrong, things do look pretty bleak for this game but who knows maybe he'll have some solution to the problem. Or even some kind of compromise like updates will be bi-monthly or he'll need to disappear for a short period to let things cool down.
idk i'm just trying to think positively :HideThePain:

They just make up charges. I'm not familiar with the recent cases, but I know previously some gay porn fanfic writers were arrested for 'disturbing public morals,' even though the characters were of age. That's kind of what a police state can do, if they don't like something you're doing they don't need a reason to get rid of you, or at least bring you in, rough you up, and tell you to stop it immediately.
You would think living in Venezuela i would know how things are, i can also sadly corroborate the part of roughing you up from experience =S

ALso sounds familliar, looks like unless is a big thing (like owning a distribution site) you are more in danger of local police looking to make a profit (corruption) and being snitched

I think the real danger is if someone around them knows what they are doing, from what i am reading a small dev like them isn't really on any radar but is easy prey if someone tells on them, so maybe just keeping a low profile and making sure no one they don't trust a lot (or very few people at least) know about it is the best defense.

Also avoid anything that could sound political lol (and gay content aparently)

...What the fuck.

Like, I guess if the dev is in legal trouble for making this game, I should just accept the fact that it probably isn't going to get continued because a porn game isn't worth repeatedly being jailed.

But still, like, this is the most wild fucking thing. I've heard of games going under due to like, people suing each other and stuff, but a criminal charge for this? Could it be argued that the game is not being made for profit, that the patreon and Ci-en are just donations unto their lifestyle and that the pornography produced is merely their artistic expression? But that's probably not going to fly in court, if it comes to that.

My heart goes out to Fujino. May you be well, even if this game is not.

That being said, if this story continues with Fujino like, fleeing the country, I'm gonna shit myself. That's a lot to do over this kind of thing.

I will wait for the author to say something before going all dramatic with the "This game is doooooomeeeeed" he just said that it will be delayed to next month in place of releasing it this month, nothing more at the moment.

So until further news, lets just wait, i'm a patreon so if he says something and no one has reported it before me i will say the news!

Yeah i was like that, like i was the one they responded to in CIEN but i was avoiding saying anything here (even despite my own curiosity) to not be alarmist, also dev is actually sounding positive, like they will just update later, and that they will take that into consideration so the update when it comes will be bigger at least.

I am more worried for the update after that.

Have you noticed that as soon as a good game appears, then crap starts happening to the developer after a while?
