I fully understand the whole concept of NTR and it's sub genres. Everybody has it's preferences
As for Asuna, I read her character very differently, there is no interest in Kirito at all, she only does what she wants, right from the start, lying, cheating, etc. her resistance feels like excuses. That makes Kirito obsolet as an mc, not that he is any smart enogh to understand whats happening anyway
There is just very bad chemistry between the characters in part 1.
To be objective Part 2 starts much better in that regard, problem is, it doesn't change what happened in part 1.
I actually think, that Fujino aims towards better storytelling in future installments.
Someone else pointed out, that playing Inoda would fit much more for this game, I agree with that.
But, hey, that are my personal thoughts. ^^
