Well, it’s not quite like that in Fujino’s alternate universe. Before Segou, they were close to what they were in the OG series. However, in Fujino’s world, Kirito wasn’t able to save her for unknown reasons, which led to the PTSD. So, it’s just bad luck for them, I guess. You could argue that she’s just sick and blame her parents for not keeping her safe after this. But tbh, all these retcons just made the story messier with way too many inconsistencies.
