Having watched SAO wouldn't really help you at all at this point beyond some vague and very badly done parallels/references, Fujino at this point is doing his own thing and making up everything as he goes clearly, so there is that XD

What is up with all these new posters hating on the update?
Happens all the time.

No real clue what certain people are looking for. Most of the short posts feels like it's people who just skip the story, which I mean you're getting basically nothing out of every update at that point. If they do read it and dislike the story, then that's fair, but other than some hiccups and issues here and there, the story is overall going along in a reasonable manner. It could definitely be better, but it's passable. If the people dislike the gameplay, it is a little amusing because from beginning until now, it's been a walking simulator with some CG hunting. The CG hunting was more common in part 1, and the story took more focus for part 2.

One of the amusing things from some people's posts though is that people reference how they miss the CG hunting from part 1, but this update had a pretty fun amount of CG hunting in the FOG underground area. And lore hunting (if you decided to go look for some of it) in the IRL. You could mess with Alice's CG on if she loses her virginity to Fukushi or Klein, and you could get a little extra lore about the construction if you go behind the apartment building.

Setting takes place sometime after Alfheim online with an alternate ending to it. That alternate ending is Kirito being unable to save Asuna, and her father saving her instead.

GGO and Alicization storylines don't exist in their canon form, but there are some references to them that aren't too deep.

From there you just need to understand Asuna and Kirito have a pretty aight relationship, but it's on the weaker side than the original canon.

After understanding this setting, whatever Fujino makes up from Part 1 all the way till now is Fujino's story.

Black screens after kirito shower on 6/1. Tried reloading multiple times and even starting a new game, hasn't helped.

Edit. Had to blindly move around until another map loaded up.

Well after this update next update will surely have suna irl scenes with inoda
One can only hope. Don't be too surprised if IRL sex scenes don't happen for until November at the earliest. A lot of the major story progression updates are still focused in FOG. But Asuna's trust in Kirito is broken enough (the hypocrite ) that things should ideally start escalating at a faster pace.

P.S. The main story plot might slow things down though, so keep these things in mind.

I think many people liked Asuna's slow corruption through deception and manipulation by Inoda more, when she mentally apologized to Kirito and all the time convinced herself that it didn't mean anything. And this update caused Asuna to break down not because of corruption, but simply because of Kirito's revenge for treason. It looked like this.

I understand that this is NTR, but Asuna reacted to Kirito's betrayal as if she hadn't cheated 3-4 times in the game and 1 time in real life, as if her heart had completely broken. And it's pretty weird. It would be more logical if she reacted - "Well, I'm basically the same, and this is just a game and it doesn't mean anything to Kirito and me." And the sex at the end of the update would be because Inoda whispered to her that "he can and you can too, it's a game," and not because she was upset and offended.

This update changes quite dramatically, as if the author is in a hurry somewhere. Apparently people didn't like it.

I don't know bros, I thought these will escalate a little more slow, I mean to reach the point of Asuna being a cum slut for Inoda but now It seems the point is reached. If sex on FOG feels so real, what would make Asuna not wanted Inoda's cok irl too now that she accepted that she loves Inoda's cok? The plot twist was really simple for me, seeing Kirito fucking Leafa and that's it, Asuna cum Slut, but we'll It's just a point of view

Inoda did manipulate Asuna though for the final scene. I believe Asuna was thinking she ended up pushing Kirito to this point where he had to cheat. I don't necessarily recall if Asuna acknowledges that she's no better than Kirito for cheating, but a lot of story beats are there to showcase and imply that Asuna isn't treating Kirito like it's 100% his fault. The fact she wanted to talk things over with him and confront him about what was going on are signs that she's aware of her very hypocritical situation.

But anyways in terms of Inoda manipulating Asuna, Asuna is emotionally unstable and even though she's a hypocrite, it's understandable. From Asuna's perspective she's been trying her best to be faithful to Kirito (yes we know she's not), and she also tries to do her best to maintain her morals and values. So the scene of Kirito banging a blonde haired lady ends up shocking Asuna deeply, so she's now emotionally compromised. Inoda ends up taking advantage of it by kissing her which shows physical affection while she's emotionally and mentally down. But the main important thing is that Inoda does a bunch of half truths and half lies while banging Asuna to convince her that Asuna needs to be more loose to not pressure Kirito. He points out facts about Kirito that Inoda shouldn't actually know, and then puts a lie in there that Asuna's strict morals are putting too much pressure onto Kirito. Basically he's able to take advantage of the situation and make her succumb to her desires.

At least that's how it came across to me this time.
