Pod2002 I believe that's the patch for versions 1.0.1 and earlier, have you tested to see if it works for an freshly downloaded 1.0.5?
There's several replies to that tweet saying it doesn't work with one being very specific about it not working on 1.0.5 game version,

A 3D side scroller game it's supposed to be. My guess is that the camera angle makes you think you have an actual 3D room and that you can move into every corner! This method is used to create a more immersive game experience and open world.

The scenes he's got cooking are pretty good though, so I don't mind if the environments are a bit barebones.

Besides, it's still better than the gold to shit quality of Full Flap's tumble into 3D with their recent sad sack of a game and its god-awful pixel filter.

Also it`s his first time AND it`s a proof-of-concept, not full blown game.
No point in investing insane amount of time in it when customer reaction could be just "meh, like 2d more".

i've followed your steps and tried with both BepInEx_x64_5.4.22.0 and BepInEx_UnityIL2CPP_x64_6.0.0-pre.1. only the second one changes by adding the folders config and unity-libs but that's it no plugin or anything

They're making it be an short game so if I had to guess it is maybe an similar length to Syahata's school section as then that would make sense to me since they are learning how to do it in 3D alongside adding new mechanics too.
