I ran around in the game a little more, and yet, personally, of the two 2k options (old and new), I would still choose the old one. The one that took up more weight 4Gb.. It gave me pleasant goosebumps..
I don’t know if it’s the bitrate or something else, but for me the first place in a game about characters with their own sex scenes is the face and eyes. To make it look more alive.

Now it's very good (imho). 12 Mb is absolutely gorgeous..
It’s not very nice of me to express an opinion, as if imposing it.
If only someone from the outside could add their point of view to what has been said..

If only someone from the outside could add their point of view to what has been said..
Like I already said:
The best result would be to render multiple videos with different workflows, overlay them, use masking-technique and pick the best parts and render it again. The issue is when objects are moving the worktime explodes.

I'm not sure about the need for such extreme actions.) As for me, what was in 16mb was the best... not even 12 or 8... Exactly 16. Yes, such settings remove some details, like Amira's on her clothes, but there The hair also became more soapy in the new 2k.
Even if you try to be close to ideal, there will still be a more soapy stain in some area, or a part will be erased. And so the faces look great, but in the clothes those details are not so visible..
There, in your new comparison with Julia, she is wearing green shorts, and the new settings have partially blurred her pattern.. That is, there are also some nuances even in clothes..

I combined both workflows.
Best way is not to watch the video in a browser.
Download and use MPC or VLC.

Now that the resolution-isue is more or less fixed.
I could make a HD-Version 16 MB/s-Version and a Lightweight-Version 8MBs (H264/VP9) that can run on all mobile devices.

I view in several ways, including renaming and checking directly in the game from a second computer at hand.. This is why I take so long.

I don't know why this is, but 16mb of just your "hard" settings still looks (to me) the best way.. Without merging.. Just harsh 2k old settings) Which I'm looking at right now in my game..Have you already deleted your old archive from the file hosting service?

P.S. In general, fresh air will be useful to me, because I have already begun to confuse the topic page and personal messages..:FacePalm:Call the paramedics.o_O

This is a question for me.
The simple answer is: Because of complaints and comfort/laziness.
There were one limit (max. 16 MB/s) on other NLT HD-Mods.
People start complaining. It's too large, please spilt it up.
I don't have premium-account, which means, if a file is not downloaded within 10 days, it gets deleted.
People start complaining again and I was uploading again and again.

This is the reason why I choose AV1 as codec.
8MB/s quality-wise is equal to 12-16 MB/s of VP9.
A smaller size mean less time uploading.
It also looks a lil' bit worse ingame anyway.
My goal in TON and TGO was max compatibility; but thats the goal anymore in SotS.
AV1 should run on 6-8yo CPUs/GPUs. If not... well that's unfortunate.
FYI: I have a "4K+ No-Compromises-Edition" of every HD-Mod on my server (just in case).

I have a personal cloud-server; but this is for work/science projects only.
Next option are premium-accounts from file-hosters.
But I have all the hardware/software- and labour-costs and should pay in addition to that for free services on a pirate-site, where nobody wants to pay anything anyway.

I usually priotize quality over filesize, so I chose to ignore mod size complaining, it's meant to be an extra enhancement and enhance the overall quality level of animations so i would say to them "deal with it or don't use it"
Do as I do: ignore irrelevant criticism ;)

AV1 encoding makes sense but i don't know the performance impact compared to h264 or VP9 for low-end PCs
gofile and pixeldrain are fine for your uses. you can also use Mega but only for a small quota

For me setting a CRF value is still the best way because it lets the encoding algorithm choosing the optimal bitrate when needed even though I don't think our disagreement has much impact on the final result.

I'd agree on this one, these animations definitely need a face-reconstruction model (iris or rhea for topaz video AI)
IMO, this workflow seems far too complex for the small details it could add, as well as increasing the risk of bugs and artifacts.

That being said, it's important to remember that the complexity of enhancement for this game is absolutely tedious, and I share don Kilot's pain just looking at the original animations.
Very poor encoding, plastic character models, inconsistent artifacts between scenes, poorly realized character movements sometimes worsen by interpolation, etc.

I experimented a bit with higher bit rates, codecs, etc.. Unfortunately, the quality did not improve noticeably (only minor details here and there). At least not in this resolution. From 4K upwards and four times the data size it looked better. Before I get too carried away, let's leave it at 8MB/s. However, I was able to extract more details from the videos. You can download the latest version below.

Do these mods change the resolution that the RPGM MZ game engine allows, or do the videos have to be played outside the game to view the higher resolution?

This mod is in 2k high resolution. Just install it in the game and enjoy..Now everything works and displays correctly, as it should be.
I'd prefer the technical answer, thanks. RPGM MZ should be limited to 1296 x 768. So even if the videos are higher resolution, it doesn't matter because they will play at the resolution that MZ allows when played in-game, due to working off of preset tiles. Is this higher resolution really in-game, or is it just applied to video files and the videos have to be played separately from the game to view the higher resolution?

I’m running now with your HD Video Mod v2.. I compare, take pictures, compare. Now in v2 a lot of things have really become more detailed..
Someone shouted from the crowd: “Hey, guys, this is clearly not good! This is the third time this day this guy has come into our saloon!!:eek:

Only personal thoughts.Don Kilot, maybe I can give you the idea that a very cool solution has already been found before?..and perhaps you will return it to the release of the new game update... or later... there is no need now... You probably haven't slept much these few days..
