So here's a question: I know we can edit save files using services like

, but why can't we just use Cheat Engine? Is it just a simple encryption or is there some other reason? There are several processes and I don't know which one is the main one (See the picture). I checked them one by one for money value, but none of them worked. To test the encryption theory, I will have to play a lot for each process and increase and decrease the money value to narrow it down, so I thought I'd ask here from the experts before wasting my time on that. lol Any thoughts?

when I was a kid. Came out in 95. I played it recently again and tried Cheat Engine and every trick I knew to edit the values, but nothing. So that experience also kinda made me hesitate spending too much time on this. lol

If you open items.json in the data folder of the game, you'll see all the items and their codes. The id for Shield Juice is 13, so it's item#13. You just have to upload the save file from C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\SotS, then edit the value, download it and replace the original save file with the one you just got.

Although it's easier for combat to get tons of weapons instead of shield juice.

Don't forget to save backups.

SIAP, but I can't seem to find an answer as to what all the "Extras" count references. I've been able to determine that the Moan Zone videos are part of that count, but there must be something else as well since I've currently got all 7/7 of those, yet I'm stuck at 11/12 of the "Extras" count.

I just dont get the point of using any cheats. You can turn the game to easy, and then its not even hard. Also the last 2 NLT games have completely broken with cheat mods. If you dont like gameplay mechanics, why are you plaing a RPGM game. There are plently of renply VNs to play instead

Some people just like to cheat. ;) And messing with the files is quite fun. And different people play the game for different reasons. I have added a lot of money, weapons and diamonds because I don't want to bother with all the foot work of collecting artifacts and selling them and buying stuff and all. And easy mode is humiliating. The NPCs will judge you.

But if you change these values, they'll never know what hit them. lol

Also, changing these values is quite harmless (money and available weapons and gifts). I don't know about other cheat mods though. Never used them.
