You described the old process as aggressive.
Mostly "the old way". I used a bit less sharpening but bit more detail preservation. Sharpening can lead to fray artifacts.

I played Treasure and it was pretty good. Tried to play the second but never got into it. This one is starting out pretty good, would love some incext, but I just can't get past the 2ft long schlong on the kid. To the dev if you ever read this stuff please, after this many years of you making this stuff could you at least give the kid a realistic penis? Please?

And I thought - “but I already have it.” It’s a pity that you deleted it. I hope you don't mind me uploading it again and just leaving the link here. Maybe someone will use it..

After all the experimenting and comparing we came to the decision... that we want to annoy dluser even more (damn it! I just wanted to think that part). Joking aside. From now on there will be only the 16MB/s version. Borlandsmen was right: it was the best version from the start. Nevertheless, Merry Christmas to you all. If you downloded the Standard-Edition (2 GB) or Overkill-Edition (8 GB). Please replace it with the 16 MB/s-Version. You can download the latest version below.

If you've already downloaded the 4.6GB-Version from here (2K_Full_v.13122.zip), you don't need to download it again.
You just need the patch attached to this post.

I added it before, but I deleted the game and reinstalled it, but I still used the previous save.
Installation is very simple:
Download the zip-file and extract it into the SotS game-folder and replace the old video-files.
Thats it. You don't need anything else (no engine-updates or mods needed for max. compatibility).
Any1 got a full save for v13122? had to format my pc to resolve an issue and lost my savegame in the process, any help is appreciated!
