Nothing to to with the Devs from my understanding of the situation.
Yeah thats what i am thinking too because most of the pirated websites like this get operated from the countries where copyright laws are trash or none to exist so in that case developer cant do anything legally.

Absolutely nothing to do with NLT. The HD mod was moved by its creator to a discord to get away from a certain troll in this thread.

Also on your copy right law remark. All websites are hosted on a server, which are typically purchased from a agency who rents the servers from a company like Go Daddy. A developer with a lawyer could easily follow the chain of command and issue a site takedown. The whole copy right law doesnt apply in certain countries is a load of rubbish. A site takedown can be done globally, and if it happens 1-2 days a month, it would create a big enough lose of revenue for the site to change. As sites like these rely on ads, and these ads wont pay if the site is down.

Please show me a country where it is legal to disturb pirated content.
Countries with limited or no copyright relations with the US:
  • Eritrea: Has no copyright protection for creators within its borders or for foreign creative works, according to the US Copyright Office.
  • Ethiopia: Has no copyright relations with the US, other than the Marrakesh VIP Treaty.

  • Iran: Has no copyright relations with the US, other than the Marrakesh VIP Treaty.

  • Iraq: Has no copyright relations with the US, other than the Marrakesh VIP Treaty.

I highly doubt any servers that host major websites like this or people who are sharing the files are from those countries

The mods didn't move it. The creator of the mod moved it to a discord. As this thread had a certain user in it
Seems loads of people know who this "certain user / troll" is.

Is there any reason he/she/it can't be named & shamed?

Then we would all know to avoid / ignore it ....

You wont understand what i am saying. I will give an example. In country government told VPN companies to keep the log of the users but its against the end to end encryption so what company does they setup the servers in the Singapore where users privacy is on high and law of that country very strict to secure users data and from there they are operating easily in my country. Because of that only thing my countries government can do is block that VPN company with court order. But they are protected by the law because in my countries law anyone can do the business. Same thing happened with pirated sites they rent servers from the countries where copyright laws not exist or not get followed strictly. Or they setup their own servers there do you think why pirated websites works so openly without any restriction since the copyright laws are so strict in US and UK. I knew one website that leaks pirated copies of AAA on a second day of release of the game. So why dont a billion dollar companies cant take down those websites. Because they are out or the reach of the copyright Laws.
