Actually the example fits if the one who paid is someone that you know and he lends you their car or he is a nice guy who is rather not bother people. So yeah as a third party i can be angry.
Again this is a pirate site, by your logic you cant complain about anything posted here and at that point what is the point of a forum?
You come off as those who licks the devs feet because they feel the need to defend them for some reason (A friend? Shill? Expect to earn the "respect" of the dev for some kind of influence in the development?) who are so common when devs get shitten on.
Do you know the patrons? Do you have personal friends who are patrons and you feel they are fucked over by the dev? No you don't know them. You being angry for other people is ridiculous. Your example also doesn't work, because YOU DONT KNOW THE PATRONS WHO YOU IMAGINE ARE PISSED OFF. How about you let the patrons who are pissed off talk for themselves? I am pretty sure that they're capable of communicating in English and expressing their thoughts.
The point of the forum is, as I said, to discuss topics. But just as there can be posts that make you feel stupid after reading them, there can be posts which are written in a really disgusting manner. Being entitled to something you get for free is one of them. This small bit didn't take too much time to create, it's a small bonus. Maybe like you said, it would've been better if the time was used on working on the update, and maybe release it quicker as such. But you, inserting your anger into your post, makes it unsightly. Express your opinion for sure, but stop trying to justify your anger by claiming to have the authority to talk for patrons who put their money into this.
I defend devs when I feel like there are entitled people like you attacking them for no reason. I don't want to get anything out of this, I have no connection to the dev, all I do is play games that I like on this site.
I have also attacked devs who intentionally fuck over their patrons with lies and might delay their small updates for over 2-4 months. But I haven't done something like what you are doing, feeling so entitled to something you're getting for free, that you get pissed off that the dev worked on some bonus content for a week. I guess you would've preferred that the dev just didn't work for a week and still kept to the update schedule?
As long as this bonus content didn't delay the provided release date by over a month (Aka it had a relatively significant negative effect on the release schedule) I feel like you being angered by this is extremely unsightly behavior. Especially if this was well intentioned.
If a dev lies about something - call it out. If a dev delays small updates for months on end - call it out. If the quality is slipping in a game - call it out. There were no broken promises here, no delays have been made public yet, hence by every metric, this was bonus content that didn't influence the promises made.
I like to look at people here as "fellow men of culture", hence why I reacted to your message as such.
