you might have gone past your trigger, you should have sold it around 93.7% according the you tube walkthrough. I know I've always sold it immediately.
do you have any save from 93%ish mark? could be worth trying

well the version in Count Morado's link had it at 83.7%, do you have a save that far back?
This game is very linear despite first impressions, many of the bugs could be because the Dev failed to account for people doing stuff out of order.
