The AI art is really quite offputting from the scenes currently. I mean the characters don't look ugly, but there's a certain artificiality that wasn't there in the past versions. I couldn't even get a shot out of the latest update due to this. The artificial art felt like it started from the Mary update and has continued since.
There are a few good scenes, but most of them just don't feel good.
The positive is that the updates feel like they have more content and more interactions with random characters, but the AI art really feels like it's no longer the same art that made me love the series.
I checked the old art and the new one.
The positive seems to be more details in each image and the speed (the kitchen apron has more detail and looks more "realistic" while the old one just had the dev hand draw the lines I presume), the art style also seems pretty darn close if you put 2 images side by side, but that's where it ends
The negatives are: Some of the folds don't make sense in the clothes, the art style is similar but if you focus you will notice numerous differences - the coloring, original had less detail which gives it a more cartoony feeling (but the detail was in the correct places, which in return felt more "real"), original art had more imperfections in the character in terms of the frown (and while the AI also seems to have really subtle lines, it feels unsuitable for some reason), the hair feels fluffier in the original (minor point), the expression also seems a bit more humane in the original (though this might be a bias on my side), etc. I think that the unsuitable folds, age marks and art style feeling artificial is one of the smaller issues - the main issue is that the positions of the characters in the scenes just doesn't look good imho. For example Sara's position in the newest version just felt off for me and there were multiple scenes with it (and the Mary update a year or two ago felt like the beginning of horrible looking character positioning). It just didn't feel hot at this point..
