which one should i download to play from the start
See:
Great question. It all depends upon what you want to do.

Do you want to play a version with a lot of content? Go play v0.89.8 "Seasons 1-4" and then v1.07.3 "Season 5" <-- these are both the "in development" versions, not "finished" retail.

Do you want to see 4k images and video with some additional content added of the first 20% or so of the game? Play Season 1 Redux. <-- this is the "finished" retail version, nothing more will be added to it. Further Season Redux versions will be separate downloads in the future.

This is just so bad, like it already has been said numerous times. The production time takes so long, if I was a supporter, I'd be probably very pissed. Checks out.

NEW UPDATE POST 7/1/2025

Let's Be Honest: Do You Actually Read the Story?

Hey everyone,

Thanks so much for your feedback in the recent poll! As always, I did my best to reply to everyone. It was awesome to see your ideas, and I was especially thrilled to see that you all are noticing the little details we put into the game - and sometimes even reading deeper into them than we intended!

It's a running joke on our team (though maybe it’s not a joke?) that most players just skip the text to get straight to the *good* stuff. And hey, no judgment here! Our job is to create the game - how you choose to enjoy it is completely up to you.

But even so, our goal remains the same. We still want to build a real story (I know, I know, how ridiculous does that sound?), create memorable characters (yes, in a game where everyone's waiting for the pregnancy arcs), and write a compelling conflict (okay, maybe now I'm pushing it). I don't want to sound pretentious, but finding that perfect balance between "let's get straight to the action" and a genuinely engaging narrative is a huge challenge.

We don't always get it right, but we are truly trying our best.

As always, a massive thank you for all your support. Work is in full swing!

Does uber just talk about whatever now in these update posts? Kinda feels like we’ve been reading the same aimless update posts for the past 5 months since the last release.

its time he starts providing expected release dates. Its been 4 months since last release, no reason why next update should even be taking more than 6 months given its a remaster. Plus he promised that future updates should come faster. He's earning at least 25k per month, you would have thought that he is able to get some additional help to pump this out faster

I have a strong feeling that it will be out sometimes between august-september... It's just a speculation don't take my word for it.

To clarify, it's been 5 months since last release and it took 10 months from announcement to release. He hadn't even been at a 6 month average for the last several years before being booted from Patreon (from my FAQ):

Season 1 Redux (v1.0.0) 01 Feb 2025 (12 months)
v1.07.3a 29 Jan 2024 (7 months)
v0.95.7a 01 Jul 2023 (8 months, 3 weeks)
v0.89.8a 11 Oct 2022 (4.5 months)
v0.85.1a 28 May 2022 (8 months, 9 days) <- includes 1 month of bugfixes
v0.68.2a 13 Sep 2021 (6 months)
v0.47.5a 09 Mar 2021 (7 months)

No one should expect Season 2 Redux before late fall and probably more like 2026 because based upon what he's trying to pack into this season, it should be much bigger (and have more new content) than Season 1 Redux.

Also, no one should expect any estimated release dates. Nearly every developer here fails to properly estimate their release date and then get into hot water for their poor estimation. Uberpie, himself, had failed miserably to do so many times in the past. Most notably, v0.82.4 that ended up being 2-3 months over and still needed a month for major bugfixes.

He's not going to be faster. Especially now that his lead writer quit and he hasn't announced a new one. Most likely, Uberpie will be using AI to write new content to go along with the AI's artwork.

Your feelings need fine tuning.

just wondering if season 1 redux, only contains content from season 1 or if it contains all previous non-redux season content. Did this dev really just restart development from the very beginning?

It's called Season 1 Redux - not Seasons 1-5 Redux. What do you think it is in it?

The previous content as all work-in-progress during the development of the VN. Season 1 Redux is the first "finalized" retail version of the VN that is about 20% of the original content plus a some new content for a few scenes. Season 2 Redux will be the next part of the "finalized" retail version, and so on.

Do you keep like notes of common question answers? I want to know because I have bad organizational skills.
No, I do what the person asking the question should do before they ask - I use the search function and find the answer (that I previously posted).
