I know they've been using AI in this game for a while now, but is it worth playing up until that point? Like is there plenty of content that already existed before they started using it? Part of me is interested in this but AI porn just does nothing for me

There is no "steam version" because Steam didn't approve the game.

You saw it listed announcing a release on Steam was coming soon - yes. But it wasn't released on Steam. When Uberpie submitted it for consideration, they denied it.
The game was never available on Steam. It had a page announcing a pending release - but it never made it farther than that. When Steam previewed the content, they denied it.

I assume you played "Season 1 Redux" - which is only about 1/5th of the currently available content that was in development over the past 7 years. It is the "finished" "final" retail version of that part of the content that is not expected to have any new content added to it (unless, at some point, the mercurial Uberpie changes their mind --- but don't expect it... but do... but don't...).
"Season 2 Redux" is currently being worked on as the "finished" "final" retail version of the next part of all the content available, plus some new content added. It's still months away from being ready.
"Season 3 Redux", etc comes after that.

That doesn't exist. Saves are written to Windows Registry. Play v1.07.3 - select the "NTR Route" and take a few hours. It will be much quicker than you waiting for someone to fulfill your desire.
