I noticed that the number of scenes in version 1.53 is less than that in version 1.0. Why is this the case?

The inventory shows the scale which Peter should give to Mary. It should not be in the inventory if that has happened.
Mary needs to weigh herself on the scale (in the bathroom?).
Some point later Peter adjusts the scale (Same location).
After that, Mary weighs herself again (same location).
If you mean posts to subscribers? Give or take, yeah. Sometimes a little sooner, sometimes a little later.
If you mean update releases? No. Just bug fixes, etc here and there as they decide to put them out. No content. There have been 54 patches for bugs, etc and 1 minor update (to remove content not allowed on itch and to restore that content with an official patch).

Major difference: Nearly all/all art work is now generated by AI based upon Uberpie's original art for Taffy Tales.
Second difference: Arbitrarily breaking down Taffy Tales into self-encapsulated "Seasons".

Skim the last 2 or 3 pages of this thread. Your question has been answered many times over the last several months.
In my personal opinion, I think it was a mistake to embark on a project like Redux. The old drawings and animation style were quite good; perhaps they could have been developed a bit further. However, starting the Redux project and having the story end up unfinished, without offering much, disappointed the audience. Frankly, I bought it to support it one last time, but if the story will continue as Redux instead of picking up where it left off, I can sadly say that this adventure is over for me.

And when Season 2 Redux comes out, Uberpie will charge another $25 or so for it on top of Season 1 Redux. Season 2 Redux will mostly be revised, revisited (and AI transformed) content already seen --- with some new content added. Do not expect to see any releases that are mostly new (or all new) content until after all the current content is revised for final retail sale as Reduxes. That will be many years from now.
Or you could have gathered all that from the post just before yours.
