No Illidan, it's not the same author. Robolife's author uses Japanese VAs, this is Chinese VAs.

are you using the compressed version? If so, did the same thing for me. the Regular version worked fine though

I'm using the regular one. I just downloaded it as usual, extracted it then run.

We had the same issue with the Compression (But the Orig files work fine). I fixed it for the compression.
Also before you download the compression can you move the game folder directly into C: and start from there.
