Been doing that, but I'd rather not invest precious points in something that might not be as useful as spending them on something else.

Also, what's the benefit of using soul crystals to upgrade items? I've tested that and seen no difference.

Copy your save, right before allocating points. If you don't like whatever change you made, replace with original.

submit and surrender are two different actions in combat:
Surrender immediately "loses" the fight interrupting combat
Submit pops up during a sexual stance your opponent began and it basically does nothing, meaning that you just stay still and let your opponent have their way with you
