Ohayo! New monthly!
This month we've got a bunch of new art and animations, as well as some new tech to help the game's performance - let's dive into both of those.
So on the content side of things, we've got the Centaur Gangbang animation, the Generic Missionary animation, and of course the gorgeous Hiro Facesitting animation, courtesy of our new animator! We've also added a bunch of unique art to the Glory Hole at the Town of Monsters tavern, new naked/overburdened Hiro scenes to the Silajam town square and mermaid encounters (showing off the new nakedness and armor weight functionality, including the ability to get naked based on a choice in an encounter and an Exhibitionist perk), and some new music to replace some of the old royalty free tracks, as well as updated tracks - Humble Beginnings, Angel, and Cottage.
Somewhere straddling new content and technical stuff is the fact that generic animations now play in combat for sex stances when no unique CG or animation is available for that character, so in sex combat you're basically always seeing an animation, including Hiro's customization. This is true for six stances, currently, though there are a few others we'll add generic animations to as well!
On the technical side of things, we've done a number of optimizations - smaller file sizes mean both easier downloads as well as faster load times, with a focus on the latter, with almost no loss in quality. In particular, we switched formats for the animations, which has a small impact on file size but a large impact on loading time. Aside from those file size reductions, we've also built out a system for loading assets that aren't immediately required, like animations and the VFX in battle, which dramatically reduces load times for battle, especially considering that every battle in the game now has at least six art assets/animations to load. This will allow us to keep adding new content to battles and elsewhere without bloating load times, and is a huge win!
The only thing left there is the memory issues that cause problems mostly on Android - we'll be adding options to turn off effects and such to help with that, as well as doing more dynamic unloading of assets so that Android devices won't run out of memory so easily.
This month is looking like it's going to be a great one, too, with new story mode content, some great new art, and some cleanup of some very old content - we hope you enjoy it!
