That's why I tried to explain to people what is an archive before going into why exactly they can't open the game. But the stage 1 failed.
Yet they ralized what's wrong on their own later

same problem
Well, i'm out of ideas at this point, if there's no error log created, then i dunno what to do, except reporting it in the itch.io page of ToA, then again it could have something to do with the older version (3.25.0 which you got from OP), try downloading the .jar from this post #18,974 and replace the old one with it, then try to run the .exe, if that doesn't work and it doesn't create an error log, then i can't help and you should report it in ToA itch.io page.
:EDIT: Oh, i completely overlooked that renaming part, i've just done it always automatically without thinking.

I don't suppose there is any chance of compressing this game
giqui compressed some versions. But because its updated weekly, they probably don't want to do it over and over again.

Btw as long as the jar has ".jar" at the end of it it doesnt matter that Windows sees it as an archive, it still works as long as it has the correct name.

Looks like HiroTales got their mistakes fixed, but:
can't launch game, two errors
1. JNI error has occurred please check your installation and try again
2. Java exception has occurred
latest java installed, java version 8 update 341
You didn't read any of the installation instruction linked from OP. Go read again.

None of those apply to me so far from what I checked. I've got a 1080TI, file size zip folder is 1.73gb (even downloaded the JAR file and renamed it) The old version works just fine .3.2
