Java Tales of Androgyny [v0.3.53.4] [Majalis]

I've followed the installation guide, got the correct windows version, have a OpenGL 4.6 graphics card, updated my drivers, reinstalled Java, installed Java SDK just to be safe, replaced the .jar, made sure I don't have any wierd symbols in the paths and the correct names, opened using the exe...
But if I click on the exe it shows the hourglass for a second and nothing happens, not even a error message.
Any ideas what I could have wrong? It used to run fine a few years ago so idk what the problem is.
(I have Java 8 Update 431 and Java SDK 23 if those are the ones causing trouble maybe? Should I get a old version?)

There's no mention of installing java in the installation guide?
Download a version that's compatible with your system and download the newest .jar and replace the old one with that, then use .exe to run it.

Is the game generating any error logs when you're launching it, you can find those in the same folder the saves end up (Appdata/Roaming/TalesOfAndrogyny, atleast on windows, dunno about other OS since i'm Microsofts bitch)?
read the install guide in the OP and stop overthinking.
on linux, if you have a system install of java, find the ToA folder in ~/.local/share/TalesofAndrogyny. if wine, its the same place as windows, check your prefix

Yup, it's shorter in content compared to adventure mode currently, but most of it's completely original and separate from it.
Not even that, just my old save files in there...
I'm completely stumped, but thanks for trying

I went through the whole game through the block and footsteps, enemies lose balance and fall, and while they are lying I hit with light attacks, on the stats at first there was an emphasis on agility, and then everything else was pulled up.
test, experiment. The game is pretty simple once you get the combat system figured out

so... I don't know if this is a sore subject, but is this game ever going to be finished? I remember being a patreon supporter from the end of 2016, when it was in very early development stages, no animations, around 5 enemies and a file size of a few hundred megabytes. I remember being so excited for it because back then there were almost no femboy content on the animated porn market yet, and remained a supporter for more than a year, until I eventually realized I had spent almost $40 on a single porn game.
Now it's the end of 2024, and I gotta be honest, 8 years for a single porn game is EXCESSIVELY long development time, even for an indie game. When will this game eventually be completed? We already got the demon king over a year ago (if I remember correctly, felt even longer). What other milestones are there until the game is finished? When every image is turned into an animation? When story mode is completed? When the Majalis team succumbs to old age? The universe's heat death?

I was also supporting them in those days at around $5/month for around a year. I even remember voting to have Urka's development rushed in the Patreon polls. The game is now a live service for the sandbox mode, and every release is shared here so I don't feel cheated in the slightest for paying $60+. I love going for an ironman chaste sandbox run every few months, but I could see others wishing the story-mode wrapped up.
