are there guides that focus on the combat, like i love the game but cant get my head around the combat.
It's not as daunting as it seems. There are lots of moving parts but they more or less make sense. When you attack you generally tire yourself out and throw yourself off-balance, so it's necessary to defend to recover stamina and secure your footing. The best way to get past an opponent's guard is finding a way to knock them over while their footing is shaky and then use Crushing Blow for big damage.

The systems and details support this basic flow. Certain enemies will require specific strategies (at least until you're powerful enough to trivialize everything), but that's what you're going to be doing most of the time.

Enchanter is the best IMO, you can get 10 or more in every stat, with the caveat that you have to metagame a bit with bonus points/gear.
Skills are Spring Attack to initiate, Feint Strike for defending, Overrun for punishing blocks, Crushing Blow for the big damage bonus vs downed enemies, Fade Away for chip damage while tanking, Second Wind and Chant for recovery, and Careful Attack to get back into Offensive stance after recovering. Take Shock if you don't plan on fucking Ghosts and learn Heal from Kylira.
This is a good quick primer. I'd add that Chant is actually better for blocking than guarding is because it prevents some of the damage that your shield would normally take from blocking.

For tougher enemies you're going to want to use some magic. The shock line is probably the best because it has a built-in stun. Once you've buffed your magic stat high enough to get it, paralyze is another must-have for the same reason.

I hope there's plans to expand upon few characters such as Vampire Hunter lady, Merrybelle and those two vampire ladies.
Among few others i can think of on the spot.

Win/Linux/MacOs builds are monthlies.
Java versions are weeklies.
You can update the game with the weeklies by replacing the old .jar file you get with it.
Yeah i must have gotten the wrong java somehow. Got the latest version now proper. I had to download a new windows version to get a new exe, because my old version exe stopped working for some reason. Haven't played a long time, mostly just been checking in from time to time to see what new things get added. These new animations are really good.

story mode or non story mode??

which one is better or you guys recomended?
So, Adventure Mode is the meat of the game. Most of the content is there.

Story Mode has a limited set of the same monsters, *but* they do have different scenes, some of which are really really hot too (like, I think Lupa has all of her best scenes in Story Mode.)
