Ren'Py - Tales of Terrara [v0.4.0 Prepatched] [Thunder One]

I liked what i saw.
Sure there's not a lot to see yet but what there was to see gave me a very positive impression.
This thing could definitely turn into something great with enough passion and hard work.

I wish the dev the willpower to persevere through the trials that always come with something like game development.
With more content and a little smoother animation, i'll be sure to make this review 5 star one day.

This is a hidden gem! story is amazing, animations are some of the best I have seen in a VN. I can not waitttttt for more to come out. I loveeeee the fact the dev goes into sooooo many kinks and fetishes. There is no sexual focus here which really makes this a masterpiece. And the "futa" option is implemented in such a way that even straight people can enjoy. the MC onlypops that part out in the perfect situations. I love this dev~!!!!!

The game has a very interesting Gameplay and Mechanics wise it's very interesting, The combat still needs a lot of polishing but let's be honest we all are playing for the Story and the content it holds and I'm sure everything will get ironed out to be an even better of a game , some mechanics were weird but having even more choices would be extra amazing in this game , sometimes it feels like a linear game instead of an RPG but with a choice of your own pace , a bit more options would be great IMO but I still give it 5 stars. oh and the renders are great , usually you would avoid 3D render games but this is Very pleasing to the eye

first time playing the game, almost 2 years since the first release. unfortunately i will check it again in 2 years again maybe, it seems there isnt much content added each update. as of now you have the intro (which is well done) and few introductionary quests. which are also well done and have good amount of content themselves, but the main plot hasn't even started yet. not complaining, the dev makes only 500$, not enough to do the project full time, just saying it as warning.
this is actual game (although nothing fancy) good if you want some change from just clicking and reading. usually devs who try to make more than that fuck it up horribly and put annoying navigation and stupid grinding. there is no annoying gameplay aspects aside from the lag when moving and it does get a bit "too clicky" when you want to explore all the rooms in a location but overall its done well.
graphics are not amazing but not horrible, simply nice. writing is nice as well and i suppose the main appease to the game would be the non human sex which there is a lot of and good variety.
i played only as female MC, which is ironic because i usually hate those games. but since the character and personality dont change (i think) only the sex, female mc isnt retarded cunt getting raped by disgusting dudes (she does get raped but not because she is annoying retard)
i don't know how much more time it takes to work on 2 MC's or whats the ratio of his patreons choosing male vs female MC but i suspect it would be better to focus on female MC only.

Probably my favourite game in development right now. I haven't found much with female MCs which I liked, but Sophia is gorgeous and a great RPG-hero. Definitely play this with female MC, there isn't much point to the male MC option.

Specific aspects:
A. Sex scenes - great variety, and plenty of extremely hot ones. There is selfcest, there is tender romance, there is fucking a slime to distract it, there is fucking a snake because Sophia is horny. While a few of the scenes are rapes (upon loosing (probably on purpose) a fight), even in those scenes Sophia retains agency and the sympathy of the "narrator".

The renders are beautiful , and there are some great animations involved.

B. Game aspects: There are proper game mechanics, which have a good balance between being simple and going beyond mindless clicking. The game mechanics add to the overall RPG-theme without becoming a hindrance to access plot or lewds.

C. Characters and plot: The plot is still in its infancy, and a rather generic fantasy theme - but well executed. Reminds me of "Arcanum". We don't see many characters developed yet, but what we see is very promising.

I tried this game two times, the first one when it was still like a demo, and I had a very good impression, the second one, now.
Tales of Terrara's interface is not intuitive at all, to progress you have to forcefully read everithing, the riddles require to remember names too.
The combat is very boring (imho).
My aspectations ... Well... Gone.
Anyway I gave 3 star because the renderings are very well made.

Considerations: Nice story, good background information and relations.
The rpg fantasy atmosphere is weel developed, evoking sometimes classic games features.
Character interaction system is nice but maybe would be better with more complexity.
Could improve by adding random encounters, not always involving a fight.
Combat system is not bad but needs to provide more information about foes and companions hit points left, mana, etc. Even allowing to control companions atttacks.
Have a simple economy system that would be better with missions or places to hunt o gather resources.
Promising game, nice.

What an amazing game! Unlike pseudo-sandbox games which just make you click a lot but offer no true choices, this game here delivers! Your actions matter and change future interactions. Exploring is a lot of fun. If this dev had more time and resources I am sure he could develop this into probably the first real true sandbox porn game out there. Highly recommended. Tons of fun. Can't wait for the next release.

One of the best games that I've played from F95, I love the fantasy setting, genres that it provides and story.

It starts out slowly which is kinda interesting because you get immersed into the game and then it picks up as you progress.

Really looking forward to further updates and the game eventually being finished!

Not going to lie, it is a very good looking game with some promising potential but it's been going on a while now and there is practically no content. Has an incest tag but none in the game yet so really shouldn't have that tag. I may change my rating if things are added but, as it stands, it will be about 6 years before anything good happens in this game.

Great looking D&D inspired game. Renders and animations look great and there appear to be a nice variety of girls. The interface takes a bit to get use to but it does feel like you are playing a PnP roleplaying game. The writing and descriptions are for the most part pretty good and help with that overall PnP feel. There are a few times where the narration shifts from using the MC's name to physically describing the MC which is a bit clunky. Gameplay is good too pretty straightforward turn based combat though a bit more info and control over your party would be nice. The story is pretty engaging and interesting as well and being able to choose male or female MC is a really nice touch.. Overall a really great start and definitely worth a play

I normally hold off until later versions of games to review it but this game is just too amazing for me to hold off on my review any longer.

The current content is quite short so be warned that even though I am giving it 5/5 that is purely based on the hope this project will be continued and the future content will be the same quality as what is there already.

So first up - STORY;
The story is actually really impressive for a Renpy adult game and I would say the balance between story and h-content is about 50-50 you don't waste too much time being introduced to the characters but you do build a connection to them over the course of the game and their personalities become quite clear after you interact with them at different stages in the game. The overarching story is also plenty interesting with a magic element that does have me curious where the story will go towards the end.

There does appear to be placeholders in place for consequences as you do get choices here and there as to how you handle the missions so in the first mission you can for example just escape the orcs or kill its leader. The game hints at this impacting future events. Hopefully the dev follows through on this.


GAMEPLAY;
For a renpy you actually have a lot of RPG mechanics that you'd expect more from an RPGM game, you have a combat system in place (though it does still need some balancing and fixing), you have an inventory system, quest log and open world travel mechanic as well as health and energy to manage and relationships to build with characters.


H-CONTENT;
This is probably the biggest strength of the game, the 3D renders and character designs are absolutely fantastic and I really love the h-scenes in this game. The game features either female, male or futa/female hybrid protagonist depending on what you pick at the start. For futa you pick female and then you get a choice further down if you want to learn how to summon a magic dick and thus becoming a futa but it does not lock out the normal female h-scenes which is nice.

In h-scenes where you can use your futa magic you first start them as a normal female and then get a dialogue option to summon your futa magic so this is fully optional per scene even after you learn futa magic. For those who don't like futa you can just select not to learn that magic.

The male protagonist is definitely where there is less content but the male prota content that is there is surprisingly good quality as well and makes the game feel more like a harem game as the dialogue hints more at that.

The female pathway feels more like a romance game and the usual heroine in danger type content.

Both are top quality and I am just glad whenever a quality female (and especially futa) protagonist game comes along that features solid gameplay + story and amazing h-scenes.

So definitely would recommend this game for those who love female prota or futa prota games. People who like male prota could enjoy this but are probably better off waiting for future updates as there just isn't that much male prota content yet.

Definitely looking forward to seeing what this game will be like in its finished state.

The game as we see it looks quite nice. The story is compelling, the only thing holding this game back is the lack of content and slow upload schedule. i will probably check back up on this game in a year and see how it is doing. I strongly recommend this game if you are okay with a short experience.

It's been a year, and the amount of content is less than i hope, more than i expected. Id still recommend it, its a great experience, but expect to wait awhile for new content

I hate to be the guy breaking the 5-star circle jerk, but I am rating the game as it is today. If the dev got up and walked away right now is what my rating is based off of, and if people did the same I am sure this would be the most common rating. So, into the review...

This game... is going places. Beautiful renders, interesting plot, intuitive UI, well-implemented world and navigation, scene replayability, varied characters, etc. The framework of this game is amazing; The core set of ideas and functions that this game is building upon was well thought out. So, that said, why 3 stars? 3 stars = average per F95 ratings, and I think that is a super high complement of a game at version 0.1.5, to be an "average" rated game so early in the planned lifecycle.

As of today at v0.1.5, you will hit a content wall within about 1.5hr of playtime, with all of your quests having just begun. You get no closure on anything, you don't bring any of your relationships to a "maximum" level. Your adventure very much has just begun. All this game really needs to do in my eyes to get a 4th and then 5 star would be to continue development with the same methods and such that are currently being used.

If this game never saw another update, I feel 2.5 stars is where I'd rate it. I am optimistic that this game will improve that rating however, so 3 stars seems fair. If you are reading this at a future update, check the changelog to see what has been introduced between now and v0.1.5. If there have been a lot of additions, I very well may consider the game to be 4 or 5 stars if rereviewed. It's not there today, but I think it will be there one day.

This is insane! The gameplay is super fun every single render is 10/10. All the sex scenes where super hot. The game hits the ground running in terms of content, and I am liking all of the characters a lot so far. I can't wait for more.

This game is so much fun! I had a blast the whole way through and I can't wait to see what happens next! I loved the D&D aspect of the whole thing and the characters are super sexy! as of right now, there isn't a whole lot of content but I have always been a quality over quantity gal anyway.

just wanted to make a quick review saying i really love this game!
the story, the setting and all is incredible, let alone the animations! i mean seriously? this might be the most underrated game on here with the greatest animations too.
i would say everyone should give this game a shot, even tho it might look a little complex in the start, you get to understand it more as you continue playing!

This is exactly how an RPG-like fantasy adventure game involving erotic elements is supposed to be. Choices have consequences, which aren't necessarily either good or bad, unlike most badly designed games where there are obviously good choices, and choices that are defined as "bad". Consequences don't have to have a major impact on the story, but surely make the world a lot more vivid, characters a lot more alive.
Good writing that does not contain dumb skippable texts. Good, enjoyable-level quality graphics and animations. World building, very impressive. Recommended.

Version 0.1.3 Review

Wow, not gonna lie i love it, great animations, cool characters, we have a choice between female and male genders in the begining of the game, giving the game a lot of replayability and other scenes because of the gender we chose to play has. All around amazing game. Gotta say it again VERY NOICE ANIMATIONS !
