i saw you took a pause from doing this, how would I do this? I've always assumed adding videos to cards would be relatively simple, even with no coding experience but idk.
oh yeah. Another game I'm more invested in finally got an update that the creator wanted it's modders to playtest. I got a decent ways in for my original plans of making a TF card battle+ mod but it was definitely time consuming and it was probably gonna take maybe 2-3 more months to finish even if I didn't Hiatus my work

If you wanna work on it yourself, what I was pretty much doing is opening up the main game HTML (I use notepad ++ but just about any text program will work). There's a section of the code that lists the cards, they're cost, effects etc. The "GifType" value dictates how many videos is into the pool for the game to pull from.

img>sidebar is where all the videos are stored and you just have to name your videos "cardnumber+letter" so for example. card #68 is "topless". if you want 10 different videos for the game to pull from when playing the topless card, than in the code, go down to the info for card 68, change the gif type to "giftype = 10" then make sure the mp4s in the side bar folder for topless are named 68a-j (68a, 68b, 68c etc)

for best results, use a video editor to trim down the videos to a small loop and delete the audio track (you can keep them if you actually want to give the game audio just volume warning i guess) also fair warning, adding videos will add to the game's overall size, so at least keep them short.

amazing, thank you!! I will return with questions if they arise but it seems straightforward enough. is it this easy to add new cards? or is that a whole nightmare of its own?

for new cards, i haven't tried it, but unless you're trying to make a new mechanic, the way to do it doesn't seem too hard to figure out

Is there any way to add a fixed-height div in the html to improve the top of the play field location for gifs?
It would be the best location if each gif did not move everything else when it is displayed...

Also,apollo-seven, if you are reading this: it would be nice if the sidebar gifs (and even the card themselves) were named in a more descriptive way after the card that activate them. Exemple:
card77.webp is "anal" --> cardname anal.webp or card77_anal.webp and for sidebar anal[a-j].mp4.
That would make it easier to replace/mod the gifs.

What happens if we set the giftype too high, example we set 10 when there are 5 gifs?

I don't think I understand how this game is supposed to work. First, its displaying kinda weirdly with the letters spaced far apart for dialogue (on firefox)
Then, started out playing story mode, beat the first guy, immediately got thrown into a boss battle, but because I already started out with high TF, lost in two rounds

is there a guide that is more coherent than the in game one?

before the boss fight started, did you choose the option that lowers your TF? it usually lowers it enough to give you a fighting chance.

overall, understand that this is a deck building game. Without going down the basic how to play understand that you wanna avoid adding bloat to your deck so that you can make optimal plays/purchases as often as possible. You need a balance your deck so you can A. get enough resources to buy better cards B. do High TF damage to end matches quicker C. shields to lessen the TF you take.

As with any Deck Building Game however the most powerful resource are draws. They are what will let you accumulate massive amounts of resources in 1 turn.

After every match there's usually a bossfight. before the bossfight you have options to help you perform better (btw you can save the game on any screen) during boss fights, all non shield resources will do damage to them. so it's a test of how well you managed to build your deck

As for letter spacing, I'm not sure. I opened up on firefox and it displayed fine. maybe you have pages zoomed in or you changed the defualt font?

I have the same display issue, I'm also on Firefox: very wide spacing for colored letters (generally enemy dialogue in-between fights). White letters (the default color, against dark background) are spaced normally, even when they share the same paragraph. It's weird.

ok, yeah. Playing past the initial page and I see what you mean. My best guess is that firefox is not interacting will with the b/code that changes font color? no idea. The best solution i can give is to open it up in edge or some other browser.

Thanks for the detailed reply! I'll dig back in and try again.

I think I got confused between the stages of deckbuilding. I also have the sneaking suspicion that the hucow route isn't the strongest

Is this supposed to be rogue like (or lite or w/e), where it's not expected for you to succeed during the first run?

The text spacing issue on firefox is caused by letter-spacing:100%; lines in the stylesheet. I override them with a user stylesheet.
Thanks! There was 8 lines of "letter-spacing:100%;" for (basically) classes applied to opponents, I removed them (using find and replace in a text editor), and now I can actually read the story text! Revolutionary!

The point of Hucow is to get cards that increase your breast size to make other cards stronger. I have a hunch that you're buying cheap cards too often adding alot of bloat to your deck. Sorry if I'm mistaken in my assumption

the only rogue lite elements is the randomized body mods you choose from before each round and the randomized debuffs in higher difficulties. The only way to unlock things is to beat the classic mode and using your acsenion points in the shop to Gacha decks, routes and body mods. I suggest yousing the save feature between each fight and boss to not start over unless you feel like you're build is just not working out at all. My tip in that regard is to not overendulge in body mods that start you with High TFS.

Oh and just fyi if you still haven't managed to beat the first boss, your deck doesn't stay between rounds. after you beat a boss, you get to : choose another body mod -> use upgrade points to buy upgrades (which become cheaper the more you use the associated card type) -> choose the decks that appear in the store (if you unlocked any side decks). then you start the next round with your basic cards

I managed to complete a run, definitely understand the mechanics more now. Your hunch about too many cheap cards might be right.

I'm gonna do a couple more runs and see how it goes.

Are the category upgrades you pick after a bossfight supposed to stay for an entire run or just the next battle? If they are supposed to stay for a run, loading a save might be messing with that, but my confidence I found an actual issue is low.

yes the upgrades stay for the entire run. I've never seen a situation where saving/loading messed something up
