Oddly enough I agree and disagree at the same time. Keep in mind this opinion is only from the non cheating path for Anne. So to me It did feel like Anne was getting more and more distant while at the same time I never thought for a second she just didn't deeply care and love the MC. After playing ch 10 - 14 then I thought the dynamic changed a little as to me it felt like Anne and the MC were getting closer to one another. As to me felt like they were having sex with one another more often then previous chapters where she just would say im to tired and go to sleep. Then after the whole relationship reset in ch 14 it felt really good to me like they were for the first time being open to one another. The scene that brought me to that conclusion was if you decline the swingers party Anne says something along the the lines of " if this was before Wednesday when we had our talk I probably would of just gone without you while you were sleeping". So while I do think their relationship got stronger and less distant I do wonder how long that will actually last for.
While I hope for it to stays strong and open unless the MC is also more open as well but from what I've seen he is less honest than Anne. So unless the MC is more honest I don't doubt it will get tiring for Anne being the one that is more open and trying / honest about things. Because off that I think it will mostly likely will be easier to go back to the old ways and slip up / cheat once in while and tell the MC about it way later and not within a day or 2 of it happening as she has done a few times or just not say anything at all.
That's my thoughts on their relationship so far from the game being fresh in my mind. I probably need to do another playthrough to get a better opinion / thought on things but that's for another time while this is one of my new favorite games don't want to burn out either.
So many people go on and on about Anne being a cheating whore. But the fact is, Tony is far less transparent about his liaisons than Anne is ( that is if you choose for him to have sex with other people). Yes Anne cheats, but eventually she owns up about virtually everything ( prior to them both clearing the air whilst on holiday). Tony on the other hand, keeps silent about virtually all of his cheating, and in his case it's far worse, because there's no arrangement for him to have sex with other women, when Anne isn't present.
Having said that, they do eventually own up to everything they've both done behind the other's back, whilst they're on holiday in Barbados, and the implication is, that in future they'll both keep the other person informed of their activities. So it seems at that point, that the cheating phase is over. Whether that will happen in the reboot I don't know? We still have quite a long way to go, before we reach that point in the game again.
For me, a real turning point in their relationship happened, when Anne confessed about what she'd been doing with Martin. That of course depends, on you initially choosing for Anne to cheat with Martin, and then later for the MC to find out about it, by sleeping with his ex-girlfriend Emma (ironically, the MC can only find out about Anne cheating on him, by cheating on her himself). I think the scene that follows, where Anne tells the MC about having sex with his Dad behind his back, was one of the hottest in the game. Because Tony is at his most aggressive and dominant with Anne, when she talks about having sex with Martin. This is pretty much the time, where him and Anne start fucking more often.
Considering, that he's seen so many times, that Anne likes it rough and loves being totally dominated. The MC seems unable or unwilling to replicate this, except on a few occasions. Which seems really odd. I mean why wouldn't you do something that your partner obviously loves? Tony seems to have no problem being an alpha male with other women, so why not his own wife?
