While I currently do like what is currently here, I think that the pacing feels REALLY slow, something that is even more hurt by the lack of a save feature.
There is a lot of walking around to just get from one point to another. This isn't necessarily a unique trait to this game, nor is it something damning--however, there is a LOT of space considering Jax's relatively low speed, even when running. In my opinion, this wasn't too bad in the nightclub, considering the characters/coins are more spread out around the map... but in the opening, it takes like 2-3 minutes to do what could have been accomplished with maybe 5 seconds of text boxes.
Meanwhile, the door section overstays its welcome. I really enjoyed the first door (the gnome one), as that was unexpected and funny. However, then there's a bit of repeats and overall everything is just like, "Yeah I get it." after that point. It feels like a 15-20 second bit stretched out for what felt like a few minutes (though the lack of save feature makes it hard to tell exactly how long it was).
The art is very quality, however. While the pixel art is not perfect, I think that its quality is much higher than the average RPG Maker game, and the art for the CGs and character poses is excellent. (Small note: I find it bizarre how the character portraits use screenshots? You could just crop the character poses to be only the head and that would feel more fitting, and hilariously would likely have taken less effort than looking for a specific episode to grab screenshots from.)
I am absolutely going to follow this game closely; not only due to my love of TADC, but also due to the fact there is clearly a lot of care and interesting ideas put forwards here. Some of the execution needs work, however for a 0.1 version of a game, that is not too bad of a problem at all.
