MC talks to velodrome cyclist, says he'll talk to PR about a collab; goes to lunch with PR, does not mention collab. WTH?
he does it off screen. she mentions it in later meetings. though it doesn't come to anything substantial, yet.

Thanks for the kind words. Hana - yes, you can see it as rushed, but this was by design. The circumstances around it were possibly unique. Imagine how they will both feel the next day, especially Hana, when they see each other at the club! Shame, shyness, anger at herself. I love Japan and its culture, but there's a downside to everything...

I didn't even get the feeling that she was so traditional. I thought she was actually trying to get away from traditions, but might still be affected by them as it was her upbringing and culture.
I'm hyped for their future interactions then ! Drama is life :D (as long as you're not involved in it :ROFLMAO: )

my guess is most people playing the game won't be very familiar with chess
are there really that many adults that don't know about chess ? especially after the queen's gambit series, I would think most people would be familiar with chess now. though I never checked the feedback on the series, so maybe I'm just an old fuck xD

Are Pippa and Jasmine the ones that are incompatible to be both in the Harem?
Since based on what I see if you reject Jasime you get a to go to Pippa's house and have some BJ.
If you say yes to Jasmine you don't get a text instead fuck Jasmine in the sauna.

Ahh, that's one of the big questions, hey! What I can say is Pippa is not a LI and never will be, so she doesn't even count when it comes to the harem. Harem is just for LIs.
But like I've said in many places now, side girls get a free pass. So you can count them in your head as being part of it, but the LIs are where the real relationships and feelings are.

The way you are saying it make me feel you are going to make it a difficult choice...
Better not be between the two red heads I already love Penny and Astrid...
You putting me on edge well I guess I will find have to make a choice eventually.

There's a difference between knowing about it and being familiar with all the terminology etc. People who "know" chess are probably more likely to call it a rook, but people with less familiarity with the game are perhaps more likely to call it as it looks - a castle. It is an informal name for the piece, but certainly common enough (and hence its use here, where it is more recognisable to the wider audience).

And yeah, there will be loads of adults who don't know about chess. Sure, they'll probably have heard of the game and be able to pick it out of a line-up of games, but that doesn't mean anything. And I wouldn't suggest Queen's Gambit has suddenly opened up the world to the knowledge of chess, popular a series as it may have been.

Add to that, people may not know the names of the pieces in English.

This is the ONLY defense I will allow for calling it a "castle." I (native English speaker in an English speaking country) don't know one person over the age of 9 that calls a rook a "castle."
But switching your King and your Rook is called a 'castle' move or 'castling'. It's no wonder that casual observers get confused.

A bit of an odd decision, since there was that buildup right before a perfect opportunity. Why structure it that way, and then have it off screen?

Unrelated, I thought the game was set in the UK until they explicitly talked about the UK being a different and far away land. It wasn't just Ivy, it seemed like everyone said things in a British manner. Curious why the dev chose that, and if there is a real-world country this mysterious Mega-City is supposed to be in.

The Love Interests list is also a little odd. Penny is there from the get-go, but is barely present in the story; Cleo is your first sexual partner in OC, but doesn't make the list.

A minor critique about the animations, I don't know why there isn't more dialogue/narration during them. So far it seems they are usually one click long, which seems a shame. Also some of the descriptions during a sex scene are a bit out of sync with the pictures, I think it was with Anya it's described what she's doing and then 4+ lines later the image changes to match the earlier descriptions. Not a huge deal, but seems like a simple fix as well.

The shift from on a date with Priya to choosing internally to embrace a harem lifestyle felt a bit abrupt. There was a little groundwork with Jasmine and Priya, but it felt like there should have been more motivation for it. Maybe if Jasmine had stuck around and was still guiding MC, she could have become the harem vizier (seems like Penny or Ivy may go for harem queen, not sure).

Oh, it's common in many VNs, but with how often it comes up in this one it's worth pointing out how little the head space in the massage tables gets used. Just kinda funny. The hole will be right there, and there's the character with their face turned sideways, hole ignored.

Just because you don't know them, doesn't mean that they don't exist. Or are you saying that you just don't know any people over the age of nine in general?

(I'm English born and bred and I have heard plenty of people call it a castle.)

Just my personal experience bro, and sure I have heard plenty of people call it a castle... the same ones who call another piece the "horsey."

I only know the basics like the names of the pieces and how they move , I never watched that series had no interest in it. There is a AVN I play that has more than one scene in it that has full on chess matches and lets say alot of the dialogue confuses the hell out of me , cause I only know the basics. Like I never knew there was something called castling till I played that game.

Actually I've been suspecting that the dev is secretly a Brit (or maybe Canadian?). There are a few phrases that everyone else is using (not just Ivy) that indicate it. Like, calling a bus a "coach" for one, there were a couple others but I can't recall at the moment.

I must have missed the bus one. I blame it on the fact I've been watching a lot of British TV lately. And also talk to a few Brits on a daily basis.

There's a popular avn about a bodyguard protecting a supermodel's daughter that takes place in a Hollywood-esque place in California but the dev set up the street scenes with the cars on the wrong side of the road. ;)

And yeah that game with chess in it, fascinating descriptions of the matches. Learned a few things playing that.

Damn those are both kinda off-topic so, uh, I can't wait for Penny to come visit! Hopefully we can convince her to stay.
And run the harem.

I'm not secretly a Brit, I'm publicly a Brit ;) I'm also always chatting about British and European things in my Discord server.
In terms of the game, there are lots of references and details that a non-Brit wouldn't know about, and also things that happened in the Premier League over the last 20 years that are hard to pick up unless you are close to it. Most of the football talk, stories, moves etc. are grounded in that rich vein of history, with a little bit of Messi thrown in for good measure. I grew up watching football, played it until I was 18, and have supported Newcastle United since I was 11. Yeah, that's been quite the journey ;) So I do chuckle a lot when you get the occasional comment about how "the soccer is not realistic". Such a tell.
My proofreader does a very good job of helping translate my British English into American English, to help it work better for an international audience. I could have done the whole thing natively but then my niche game would have been even smaller than it is... probably!
