I really do have the worst luck with your game. I just tried the save in your message and now I can't even load it. Ignoring the exception makes it even worse.
Sorry for the late reply. This was because I was fixing the save from the new version. Everything should be fine now. If not, just install the hotfix version. It's a matter of principle to get you through now, ahahahaha...

Announcement of interim update 0.06 LOCAL UP!!!

Good health, dear Cossacks!!! We will introduce you to the changes that the localization update will bring before the release of the major update with the battle system. This post was delayed a little because we were finishing a very important part of the SECRET, but everything is going well at the moment ;).

!!!IMPORTANT!!! First, we must say that we officially support two languages for the game: Ukrainian and English. We have improved the project to make it more convenient for translation. You can write to us about translations without any problems, and we will add them to the game after the release of this update. BUT it is important to note that we ONLY support the two languages mentioned above.

If the person who provided us with the translation for the update does not continue to update it, we will indicate the version for which the translation is current. If someone wants to continue it, we will not object. With the permission of the translators, we will provide their contact information. In general, when choosing a localization, you will see which version of the game it is relevant for, who translated it, the type of officialness, and more. Any inaccuracies in the translation, interface, etc. will only be resolved if we are notified about them. We will only check the localization for bugs and similar issues.

So, here are the main things we plan to do:
  • update Ukrainian to the current version
  • officially add fan localizations
  • check for English errors
  • expand cheat code functionality — allow skipping all mini-games; for the combat system, this has been postponed until the release of 0.07
  • starting to remove rudimentary elements from the game
You may have noticed that the last point looks rather unusual. But we will refrain from commenting on it for now. The work on approaching version 0.1 is starting with small steps :D. Thank you for your attention!!! Budmo!!! Stand with Ukraine!!!

A lot of time has been devoted to the December Secret, and we have made significant progress on it. If only the developer-programmer hadn't had to take his laptop in for repair, everything would have been perfect... He had to take a forced break from work for a few days, but there's nothing we can do about that ;). Now, we are actively moving on to the localization update. We plan to release it in the first half of November. And that's in the worst case scenario; we plan to release it even earlier. The main part of the translation is complete! / Shelling and power cuts

Good health, dear Cossacks!!! Have you been waiting for us? We're here now! And we have a lot to tell you. But in short, everything is under control!

First, let's discuss the successful progress of the localisation update. At the moment, all dialogues and tasks have been updated in Ukrainian to the current version, which is 25k+ words! This means that the bulk of the localisation work has been completed. All that remains is to localise all the selection menus, character descriptions, mini-games, and all dialogue edits in Ukrainian and English. We should also note that the game's structure will be further improved after the final localisation update. This will have a significant impact on the ease of translating the game, and we are confident that it is worth the resources invested. The new structure already applies to:
  • PC chat dialogues – now all messages and correspondence are in one file, so you don't have to search through all the events to find where a particular message was added (legacy code fix, picture 2)
  • Tasks for the journal – now you have 3 files, 2 of which are responsible for routes and the storyline. Inside, they are distributed according to the cards in the journal itself, so there will be no confusion and you will be able to translate efficiently while navigating them (picture 3).
In other places, translation conveniences have already been created, but will be improved if necessary. If we notice that we have missed something, we will correct it with new major updates or we will specifically provide a separate localisation after it.

As for other news, the muzcovites(ruzzians) are starting their winter campaign to leave us without electricity, so we are currently experiencing quite serious problems with this (what a great and humane culture, I must say). We are forced to remain without electricity for 6-10 hours at a time. We can no longer afford to release an update in the first half of the month, but we were very close to doing so. Even if we don't manage to release it over the weekend, expect it next week. So, although it's not our fault, they won't be able to overcome our persistence. They'll be choked by it ^_^.

We are now saving as much time as possible to work as soon as the power comes back on. So we'll see you when the localisation update is released. And it's just around the corner, as you can imagine :). Thanks for your attention!!! Budmo!!! Stand with Ukraine!!!

The BloodRiver Saga: Retransmitter Update v.0.06 Localisation Tech UP!!!

Good health, dear Cossacks!!! It seems that the harder we push, the more obstacles we encounter. 10-16 hours of power outages per day, disrupted daily routine, enormous workload. BUT we gave all of this the middle finger and are finally releasing an important localisation and technical update, 0.06 Local Tech UP!!! For anyone interested in translating the game, there's no better time than now! The game has been greatly improved in this regard, and further changes will not lead to significant changes for the translation. The technical side is also incredibly important and has brought us closer to the desired 0.1. Although it was mainly work with legacy code to improve usability, it is just as important. Once again, congratulations to everyone on the release! Oh, and there are some new feature for cheat code owners... You'd better check out the new changes!!!

Changelog:
  • Ukrainian language updated to the latest version - 25k+ words and the whole UI adaptation, all the routes and the entire plot
  • !!!Mini-game skip!!! A new cheat code feature (from the Cossack Khorunzhyi tier and higher) that allows you to skip all mini-games in the game. Combat is also included
  • !!!Language selection menu!!! Now you can not only change the language, but also view detailed information about the selected language. Its status, readiness, translation method, and more
  • !!!Working on style consistency!!! Bringing the first mini-game with a timer and system windows in line with the current style. Further work is expected
  • !!!Important!!! Significant changes to the structure for ease of localisation - now there is no need to search through different files for strings that belong to the same group. A single chat message file has been created, character descriptions and tasks have been organised (divided into sections), event menu selections, transitions, dynamic names, system notifications, etc. The tl_strings folder, which created more problems and complicated the translation process, has been removed. If you're working on one thing, everything will be in one place
  • The entire dynamic naming system for characters has been reworked - now a huge number of errors due to undefined name variables have been reduced to zero (work with legacy code)
  • !!!Compatibility of saves!!! All characters have been adapted to the new type of dynamic names, and the task log has been updated
  • !!!Compatibility of saves!!! Fixed an issue with Mei's route where progress would be blocked after stealing all items from the studio (the menu would remain after)
  • All issues tracked via Lint (missing models, non-existent variables, wrong ren`py syntax etc.) have been fixed
  • After training in the UA gym with Uraraka, the conversation no longer shifts to talking with Asui
  • All old unused assets have been removed(goodbye, text quest and others)
  • Correction of English and Ukrainian texts
  • Correction of all incorrectly written names in the Ukrainian version
  • Fixed all places where the translation string could have been omitted
  • Fixed all instances where the translation of the string might not have been displayed
  • Fixed the distorted placement of grade descriptions in the Study app
  • Correction of frame boundaries for intro info, due to which it stretched incorrectly
  • Updated some system messages in the game
  • Added missing click sound in the bin
  • Added the ability to turn pages in the gallery of Easter Eggs (we forgot about this :D)
  • Added a New Easter Egg for patrons
  • Changed Easter Egg, Cheat, Gallery codes
Although we were unable to release the update within the promised timeframe, we are pleased with the result that we managed to do so in November (which is the main thing). We are confident that we will eventually get all the processes in order here too, but that will definitely be after the war. Thanks for your attention and support!!! Budmo!!! Stand with Ukraine!!!

Basic Guide for Translators and Terms of Cooperation!!!

Good health, dear Cossacks!!! The update has just been released, but we have already received so many requests from people willing to translate the game into their language! It is a great honour that you have chosen our project and are willing to invest your precious time in it. Therefore, we decided to release a detailed guide for beginners in Ren'Py translation without delay.

We will try to explain the basic principles in an accessible way and highlight the most common pitfalls for experienced ones. In general, the Ren`py translation system is not complicated and is well structured, but it is always better to have a guide at hand than not. So, the guide consists of two parts:
  • - everything you need to do before you start translating the game. If you are a beginner, this is a required section for you. For others, it is optional.
  • - the fundamental things you need to understand (dialogues, strings, styles), tips, answers to the most common questions, pitfalls. The guide will be expanded as questions come in from translators. In other words, it has the potential for future extension.
Follow the links above and start your translation adventure! But before you do, pay attention to the points below. They clarify our cooperation model:

Adding localisation to the game. After you have completed the translation, we also review it and check for bugs and technical errors. After that, the translation is included in the next update. Please note that you do not have to translate the entire game, but then the menu will indicate how much of the translation has been completed. The same applies to correcting positioning in the UI. You can do this yourself or ask us for help. However, we cannot promise that it will happen in this update if the deadline is particularly tight. In that case, it will be done in the next update after nearest one.

Language support. If for some reason you do not want to continue translating the game, someone else can take over. We are committed to monitoring the technical side of localisation, but not the quality of the translation. Here we rely on general feedback from native speakers. You will remain listed as one of the authors of the translation, but it will be indicated up to which point you translated (unless, of course, you wish to remain anonymous).

Suspension of language support. We have no problem with the methods you use for translation. We ourselves actively use AI to write more concise sentences or to adapt phrases from Ukrainian. But be sure to indicate what was used. Otherwise, we reserve the right to suspend language support due to deception. Honesty is the key to successful communication with the community.

Communication. Please note that you can always ask questions or keep in touch on our Discord server. We recommend that you first read the guide above, as the solution to your problem may be found there. If not, we will find a solution together, no problem. Just keep in mind that we sometimes experience serious power outages and may not always be able to respond in a timely manner. However, we will try to prioritise translation-related questions.

The first stage was completed on time!!! Moving forward according to plan!!!

Good health, dear Cossacks!!! First of all, thank you all for the warm welcome to the new localisation update! We needed some time not only to release the update, but also to develop a guide that would help anyone who wanted to create a translation into their own language. So, now we have finished this stage and are moving on to the next one. Let's talk about it!

The next stage is a SECRET, which will soon no longer be such a one :cool: . Active preparation has been going on for half a year, and discussions for about a year. General information will be available to everyone, while more interesting details will be available to patrons. But don't worry, no one will be left out! At the same time, there will be a lot of information about update 0.07 and further ones. Since we now hope to bring TBR to 0.1 relatively quickly. So you will have plenty to read!

We are glad that we managed to release the update as planned in November, although not without problems due to the lack of electricity. Unfortunately, we already see that we will not be able to release SECRET in December; we need more time. First of all, because we currently have only 3-7 hours of power per day. The situation has worsened due to muzcovite shelling and the approach of winter, so we are squeezing every last drop out of the resources we have!

SO, our forecast for the release of SECRET is January(end of the month)/December. Work is in full swing and we will soon begin to share the results. We look forward to this moment! Thanks for your attention!!! Budmo!!! Stand with Ukraine!!!

P.S. The manual will be updated with the release of update 0.07, as we have already identified a couple of issues and improvements that can be made both in it and in the project. Therefore, we recommend that translators also keep an eye on the changes!

Pre-Holiday News!!!

Good health, dear Cossacks!!! We have some good news for you today. Remember how we often mentioned the problem with the lack of electricity? Well, we managed to solve this problem!

Thanks to the generous help of a fellow, we now have a charging station that fully covers the needs of our laptops during power outages. We will have it by the end of this week. So, this gives us cautious optimism about the level of comfort and overall ability to work. Now everything will definitely speed up and we won't have to wait for power to be available. We would have gotten it earlier, but it was beyond our budget. We couldn't consider that option.

As for content, expect a general Christmas post later this year, followed by a SECRET ANNOUNCEMENT for patrons. A tremendous amount of time and effort has been spent on its preparation (and just as much is still needed), but now we have something to show. As we said, you will soon find out and learn much more. Also, the first post after the New Year will be an announcement of update 0.07 and further news about it. Everything is going according to plan, as far as possible.

As for the frequency of posts, we hope that the current number of posts is sufficient so that you don't feel like we've disappeared. We try to make a solid post once every 1-2 weeks. We are currently in the active phase of development, so it is very difficult to keep track of everything at once when we don't have any extra hands. But we will manage, and soon the workload will be much lighter!
