Goblins have to show up sooner or later as they're a Chekhov's gun at this point. The game starts with a description of the goblin menace and how they've torn through towns and villages, a major character lost her home and family to them, there was an update about potential sightings of one that turned out to be one asshole kid being an asshole, and they get name dropped on a consistent basis. At some point they have to be relevant to the story, it wouldn't make sense for them not to be.

That said I wouldn't say they'd make a better antagonist than any of the current in game ones. We haven't been given an indication that they're intelligent enough to actually be an antagonist. Also based on how their sprites look and how the opening splash image portrays them... they're probably at least as ugly as Enlai... only green.

+to add , Kinda convinced that the disappearance of goblins is simply goblins wearing humanskin (Enlai, Dukall, grandpa, cousin, Priest), or well humans using goblin magic is kind of established post priest's wife's death

Dukall afterall has a goblin parallel face as in the picture from the intro when he's posing with yui & marin

Oh God, it's been so long since we saw his face straight on that I forgot how ugly the owner of the pub is. One thing that consistently amazes me is how Inatari is able to make his ugly bastards so ugly that they're somehow a completely different art style from the rest of the game. Even their shading is different.

It does. The game is set in a world where goblins are basically a plague. They're your standard fantasy "horde" monster. Small in size, green, and in mass numbers they overwhelm villages, steal whatever supplies they can, enslave the men, and drag the women off to rape for breeding. It hasn't been a major focus as of yet, but the adopted sister of the main character escaped from a village as it was being overrun by goblins. So far the looming threat of the goblin hordes has been brought up occasionally, with one section of the game being in response to the fears of a nearby village spotting one. The MC's father also travels from village to village for various reasons and I think one of the things he's on the lookout for is the threat of goblins. Within the confines of The Corruption of the Village there has been no indication that the corruption of the village has anything to do with goblins, but goblins certainly are the unseen threat lurking just outside the events of the game so far.

Yeah I guess I will wait 2 years minimum until we reach somewhere substantial and the goblins start being in the picture and we have corruption scenes with them.

Going by the slow update cycle I don't think my estimate is not far fetched xD

Violet should be older , Marin and Yui are ok , but other female chars should have a slutier look. Some lingerie will spice the things up , even if is year 324 or something...

I like the story of the game so far, its a little slow but this is a slow burn so we should know what to expect at this point and the scenes with the girls are honestly top tier corruption in my opinion, its gotten to the point where marin wants to one up yuu when it comes to anything sexual just because she's tired of being portrayed as an innocent kid. My prediction is that ryuu will eventually figure out whats going on as he seems suspicious alot of the time and also i realized he's the one narrating the game so obviously he has to find out, then in shock/depression he will leave the village, maybe take over his fathers job so he has an excuse to leave then that will be the end of chapter 1. i don't think where getting any goblins in the first chapter i feel like it would be kinda redundant at this point to build up all this corruption just for the village to get wiped out by goblins, although i do feel like the main antagonists of the game may be goblins. I'll come back to this game in like 2-3 updates so hopefully the story is more developed by then especially since it'll probably take a few months.

I also take the opportunity to answer the others who asked about the recollection room, it will be fixed in version 0.49 along with the arrival of the minigame in the store where you see shadows, for the moment is confirmed a blowjob between violet and grandpa, and something not so confirmed is maybe marin with enlai (He mentioned this in discord but some time ago and in the WIP only violet comes out), the 0. 4.9 comes out this month, and the 0.50 maybe in february, this would bring with it the sex update between enlai and marin, I will take the opportunity to share the photos (the photo of marin is for the 0.50, only the one of violet with the grandfather is for the 0.49, he is working on both at the same time) since I shared information, if in the future you could support inatari and follow him in patreon, fanbox or subscribestar it would be great.

I like it too, the game is in the early stages of corruption, but I expect that's what's going to happen.
