Ever noticed how most male MC in sandbox-ish games always start as lonely virgin until they find out they have great mystical powers or they invent/are given a shady-ass drug that lets them raperroughly the equivalent of half the population of china?

Ever noticed how in pretty much all their cases they have at least one, usually more girls around them that already likes them and all they'd have to do is ask them to be their girlfriends. I just played (replayed) Milfy City, The Awakening, and Echoes of Lust and it hit me in the face how all in all those games the MC could have all the sex a man could dream of without going through a convoluted adventure. I thought that was kind of funny.

(In Milfy City, it's not as bad though as the girl in question is the MC' sister, but then again maybe that makes it worse, especially since every female member of the MC' family wants him, too).

That's fair. Generally I tend to ignore the MC' personality, because in general they don't have one. In some ways it makes it easier to put myself in their shoes... but it is a good point that the more rapey bits (which are WAY common) often make me feel like a total asshole and that's no fun.

They don't exist, because there are no sandbox porn games. If you mean harem games without story but with a lot of annoying grind however, there are some crazy things about them however.

First and foremost they are creepy ugly losers with harems of women who are somehow immune to jealousy.

They also have split personalities. In moments of heroism they save innocent girls from school bullies. On the other hand they rape their mothers from time to time.

Physically they are an interesting species too. They are basically gnomes with horse sized penises. They can have errections despite not having enough blood to support them. A common theory is that their they fill their penises with air. This still doesn't explain how they are capable of producing twice their weight in sperm.

I'd almost prefer a game where the romantic gentleman or manipulative asshole path was chosen at the very beginning, and then you'd play through from there. If the romantic option is chosen, all the creeper content basically disappears. If the asshole path is chosen, all the romantic content disappears. Then there's no cognitive dissonance experienced by the player during gameplay.

I was thinking about that yesterday (coincidence) and I think you're right. It's just an "easy" way to have sexual content with character that aren't "plot-ready" yet. And it just makes the MC into a rapist... (I mean even more than the other stuff).

Something else that aggravates me is how these "open-world", "sand-boxy" games get away with releasing very little actual content but hiding behind all these little fetch quests and bullshit.

I've gotten railed in the past over the size of a release, at which point I have to point out, "Well, I released as much if not more than this guy, but his took you three hours to play through because you had to keep running over the same parts of the map clicking on different shit until you could find out how to unlock the next scene three or four times. My game just didn't torture you with that we got straight to the meat and potatoes."

For me, this open world style story telling doesn't really add anything. It just creates the illusion of more content because it takes you longer to play through.

But that's just my personal gripe.

I actually really like the idea of it. A light, shallow life simulation with a bunch of different girls you can date and you're free to chose which one(s)... But it rarely pans out like that. Bunch of padding, horrendous MC, almost forced to go after every single girls in the game even the ones you don't like.

Content per update isn't a huge deal to me but I am getting sick and tired of all these games conveniently stopping before sex happens. Like a cliffhanger, like bait. And in the next update it doesn't get resolved either. Either more teasing or worse, it does the same baiting again with another (sometimes completely new never seen before) character.

Fuck that shit, man.
