Can't get the game to run in a window, I'm on 3440x1440 and the best I can have is 1080p borderless fullscreen ??!!

Total Noob here. Game looks great but I'm kind of lost. Is there a special key for the lumberjack? Mouseclicks, space and Enter all do nothing. Or maybe I need to get an axe first? Do you have to wait for some event to trigger to start doing other stuff? At the mine at least it told me I need some tool.
For the girl at the entrance I'm supposed to be go to some guild and interact with some barrels. Where is the place? I clicked on all the barrels I found but nothing.

There are animations in the game. There's not a lot but I keep adding them.

Is there some list of what girl excels at what task or is it all experience dependent?

You decide by allocating xp. Some girls have unique perks though and I have not yet decided how to show/communicate it in the game.
Has anyone had any performance issues while starting game/loading content (mb on a slower machine)? Considering some optimizations but really know if they are necessary.
how do you get out of the pick axe mining mini game, I get some gems then press escape to die is the only option, besides run out of stamina and lose everything

Same here, you're supposed to get out but it seems impossible
Walk back on the lift where you start and click the W-key or the up arrow key.

You can buy jumping potions or dig carefully 1 square stairs, but i'm going to overhaul this soon.
How do patrons work? Is it that every day of their stay one girl with their demands must be working? Or can the stats be distributed over different girls. Or is it only the day they leave?

Maybe I'm dumb but the current system really sucks, even if you find a couple gems they don't make for the potion cost !
Also the inn visitors reward are crap, they're only useful for fame
