IMO, it's just fear mongering. AI work will only get better overtime. There is no way for people to get better at it, unless they actually use it.
The exact same honeymoon happened with the render engines we currently use. Games today, even when using the same/similar engine, look significantly better than they used to. The main reason is simply because as a community, our understanding of the software has improved. (ofc, improvements in the software itself has had a significant impact.)
I fully believe that once we start to learn more about AI as a community, and useful tools are developed to assist creators, it will revolutionize adult gaming.
We have always been a hobbyist community. Many great games were created by complete armatures who've never touched any aspect of game development or any form of artistic hobby/career. Just a few years ago, when someone complained about a game, someone would just say "make your own". and although it sounds pretentious, it was actually kind of true. But today, it's become much more difficult for new developers to start their projects. Not only is there the global economic issue to deal with, but also player expectations and demands have risen dramatically.
So, I see the possibility as AI as our chance to correct this. Go back to a time when this hobby was accessible to everyone. Sure, we will get flooded with garbage, but within that garbage there will be some gems. I've always had to sorted through seemingly endless amounts of garbage for a handful of decent projects. I don't see why this would be any different. As I play more AI created/assisted games, I'll start knowing what to look for, what to avoid, etc. Just like I do now.
