Looking at the screen shots it's pretty clearly the latter.
I have somewhat mixed opinions on these seasonal specials in games (Halloween, Christmas, ...): On one hand I have no interest whatsoever in playing them as they tend to break narrative and character arcs. On the other hand I recognize that the dev may need a break from working on the main story from time to time and putting together some silly discontinuous What If?-story can make for a decent escape valve.
Yes pretty much. I've suppressed the name of the game, but it was a slow corruption thing. The sex had barely started and then the dev threw in a holiday gangbang special.
