I wouldn't be so categorical, I would say that the developer basically hates people as a species, since the grind in this game is just brutal and the minigames finish off your nervous system...

How do you change the name in the beginning? Every time I do, it always defaults to Alex. What am I doing wrong?

Open The Fapocalypse v0.2.3b/code/script/main_script.js , search for name: "Alex" line and change it to anything you want.
