Are you just starting or loading from a save, if your loading save you can try to delete the persistent file in the save folder in game, also the one in user-appdata- romming -renpy-thefivestarstories

I dont speak English as a first language but to quote me "only renpy game that does not" meaning this is the only renpy game that does not work. As I stated every other renpy game has worked as in about 4000 of them

2. click on downloaded exe
3. copy entire game folder to the new folder
4. launch renpy.exe
5. select game project
6. click launch project

on pc (windows), the issue was a corrupted persistent file, my solution works like a sandbox something like a virtual machine

Yeah I have this already and it will work with the full renpy I already did this but thank you for this info
The point I was making is it is the only renpy game I have ever played on this PC that did not work that includes two of the previous versions which I still had on my PC thus I assumed that the renpy was wrongly associated in the game.
If I overwrite the renpy folder with the full repy download I would not even have to associate it with the game, it will just work because I use the sdk when I work in Renpy myself to me indicates that the renpy was not properly associated in the game.
The fact it works on almost everyone's PC is interesting
If it was not this one game and this one game only I would consider pasting the defaut renpy into the windows system folder to make all the renpy available to everything, but this would mean I would have to constantly update it not worth it if every other game does not need this level of user circumvention
It is not worth me pasting the default renpy into each iteration of the game as I said big thanks for the info but there are plenty of other games
Using the advice given to me by hakulaku97 if anyone has similar launch problems with any renpy game downloading the default renpy and pasting it into the main exe directory overwriting all files within might solve launch issues assuming it is a renpy issue

Yeah, I tried it on PC and Laptop purely to see if any files were being deleted by antivirus from possible renpy editing thus they would look like they were malware due too not being the expected size.
It did not work on my PC or my laptop the laptop has virtual PC's which I can run anything without antivirus with no risk to myself but it did not launch on either so I then tested it using renpy's default pasted into the game it worked launching it via renpy not the game exe leading me to believe that was the fault.
I might try to decode the exe later just to see what the issue could be just for my own sake but thank you to those of you who offered solutions the issue was more interesting to me than the ability to play the game

That's weird I haven't had any problems launching the game, but I always manually add the saves from the previous version to the new versions game folder before I start but I can't see that making the difference

You can also use this mod. (I found it here on F95z but now I can't find the forum where it came from or I would link there and credit the dev). Just unpack it to the "game" folder and it will work.

It changes all text to white, can be used in any Ren'py game as far as I know. (Might be good for you for other games too, even if The Narrator manages to change the programming and give us a color choice in this game.

also why dont you post him a short (or complete?) script for this story/plot?
