) there is not too much opportunity to do so... which actually results in -> in order to lock your game you have to do things out of order deliberately -> if doing so what's the surprise when the game actually croaks ? It's RPG well, I tried to stay out of the walkthrough to enjoy more the game and try to solve things for myself, so I just went clicking on every exclamation mark I found and using the oracle when in trouble to know what to do, this took me to this point. There's no way you can kinda "soft lock" your way and not get any further. Sounds more like you're missing way more stuff than you're telling us or than you've noticed. Talk to strangers and follow their hints, check the Oracle etc... This game is so one-directional, even if you do stuff "out of order" you shouldn't be able to soft lock yourself and prevent from progressing...

Did you check the inventory, how many bells you have ???? At this point, I have used all 3 dumbells, so I aint have any in my inventory. If you have less than 3, you have missed 1 or if you have all 3, do grafts !!!!!
Since you have not mentioned just to be sure check out Heathers... and the lockers in the city gym...
