Nothing wrong with having a default name, but look back at the original Legend of Zelda, even- Link is default named Link, but you can name him whatever you want. Does that change that he's Link in later iterations of the series? Again, no, because that's the internal story providing that for you. It's not until voice acting got involved that they started removing naming the save files (and thus your characters) whatever you want.
